Was on a Virgin American flight from NY to CA a couple weeks back and they offered 21st Amendment Back in Black and Brew Free or Die for $8 each. I think the main issue for craft beer on flights is they don't want to serve beer in glass bottles on a flight. If cans keep getting more popular for good beer we'll see more of them on flights.

I'd far prefer more leg and elbow room over a better beer selection.

"you'll never change the permissible ABV of beer in Alabama" - Gourmet Beer Bill signed into law, May 2009, increasing permissible beer ABV from 6% to 13.9%

"You'll never get legal taprooms in Alabama breweries": Brewery Modernization Act signed into law, June 2011

"You'll never get larger beer bottles allowed in Alabama": Gourmet Bottle Bill comes into effect August 2012 increasing permissible beer bottle size from 16oz to 25.4oz

"What's the point in trying to change what beers airlines have? It's not worth the effort": apparently, Beeradvocate, 2012....

You might be able to change it, but for me at least, it wouldn't make a difference as I would not pay premium prices to drink high end beer on a plane.

Have fun dealing with the TSA.

(The liquid ban is kind of stupid but it's far too politically entrenched for anything to be done about it.)

damn, I thought that you wanted bars and beer stores to always offer flights/half pints instead of full pints. Now that I would be into. So many times there are 3-4 beers on tap that I want to try, but cannot order all that beer and drive home.

but then you have to pee like 5 times. That happened on the flight from Canton-ATL, then ATL-RDU. Great Lakes and Sweetwater pubs got the best of me.

On a jetblue flight in july I had a Brooklyn Summer for $7. Considering it was $6 for Bud Light I convinced myself it was a good deal

You can get a sixer of Great Lakes at CLE to take on the plane.
I was blown away and elated by this fact when I learned it. It was warm though so I didn't drink it on the plane.

I'd say it's worth that extra buck!

Yea seriously, I cant think of any petition I could care less about. #FirstWorldProblems.

If you're really motivated though, you can carry on nips onto a plane as they are below the liquid requirement.

@StuartCarter Keep fighting the good fight. I don't find it surprising that most people here are naysayers despite being craft beer drinkers. If the petition already had 50,000 votes I imagine all these people would sign and say positive things, but since the majority of people in life are sheep that go with the crowdthink we shouldn't really have high expectations. Just so you know I signed the petition. So did Greg Koch of Stone, as well as other industry heavy hitters.
