Anybody get a hold of their Rum Barrel Aged porter?

 

I hadn't even heard of it until now. I hate Rum BA beers, but if anybody can pull it off, it would be pFriem.

Hell yeah. Keeps your eyes peeled for this one if you've never had it. Blind taste it against Boneyard Notorious or Pliny the Younger and to me it still comes out on top, or at least it did a few years back when I had it.

Eagerly anticipating this one.

There could very well be a happoshu in there!

 

pFriem mango IPA is really really tasty

 

Finally found some bottles of Double IPA at Costco of all places. Bottled 1/9. Such a delicious beer. Also had it on tap a few days later. Still seems strange I’m not seeing it in more stores. New bottle, smaller size. Was 4.79 at costco. I assume it will be 5.99 elsewhere, same as previous years despite the smaller bottle.

Can confirm. I did the triple IPA blind taste test at Upper Lip a few years ago and ranked Pfriem over the younger.

C'mon Pfriem, help a brother out!

The Japanese Rice Lager and Low- Alcohol beers will be easy, and, it looks like Kirin and Sapporo have Happoshu's out. I'ma need a favor for that Kvass though. Josh, don't forget your buddy up here.

 

Have you checked Euro Market or Europa Food in B'ham for kvass? I remember it was pretty easy to find in Russian/eastern European markets down in the Los Angeles area. Big 2-liter bottles of the stuff.

You might need to look for it in Cyrillic: Квас. (Read the "в" as "v" and the "с" as "s" and you're pretty much there.)

There was a Happoshu out that was blue. I forget what it's called but John's market might still have it. It wasn't pleasant but looked neat. Kvass seems easy to find in Russian markets.

Now if Pfriem made a low alcohol beer that would be something!

 

Haven't been in lately, and I usually just look for different stuff, never looked for Kvass. Will soon though!

 

IIRC, Aslan brews a NA beer, so that should be easy enough.

 

As of 10 minutes ago, I just need the Happshu and Kvass. I still have a gift card to ES to use, and it looks like a nice day for a walk........

 

Can also confirm. It is on tap here in Hood River, and it is a wonderful beer.

Actually, the whole taplist is pretty amazing right now. Don't overlook the splendid rauchbier.

 

Had one last week and it was fantastic. I think the only pFriem I’ve ever disliked was the spring pale ale.

 

Haven’t had the pleasure, but my buddy just returned from hood river and he couldn’t stop raving about the pfreim’s Helles Rauchbeir. #jealous
