Drinking an Aspect Ratio now and it’s a good pale ale. I guess I don’t get the complaints unless you’re put off by El Dorado

If those cans had hailstorm or any other less hyped brewery, they would be average 3.5-3.75 ratings on untapped vs the 4.25 that he gets on almost every beer. The problem is people have a hard time finding phase 3 so to justify their time spent, they give it an auto 4 and say it's great.

I enjoyed low ceilings and perpetual sounds a lot. The problem is that I've had every single release and that's all I'd drink again. Chain link and concrete, to me, was almost as bad as protocol, which was pretty terrible.

Aspect Ratio is good. It's been my favorite Phase 3 beer so far.

I’m sitting on my last can of Chain for a month or so until 1/4 of it is sediment.
    Hopefully it’ll taste better

I am not one to claim I am an expert in beer flavors/off flavors but there was something about protocol and this one that made me immediately hate it. It is very rare for me to take a sip of beer and think "yeah I'll just dump this"

Felt the same way about Discipline for Passion. Let it sit for a couple weeks and had another one the other night and dumped it. Just tasted off. They've been pretty hit or miss for me so far. Have a couple cans of Aspect Ratio coming my way...hoping it's a good one.

Don’t get your hopes up, just had my Aspect Ratio and found it to be pretty bland. I’m thinking at least part of the problem is that they could have difficulty sourcing good hops.

Brewing on unfamiliar equipment is probably a significant factor that I don't think anyone has noted.

I heard that the water in Lake Zurich isn't the best.

Im not a brewer, but I would think using RO water would make that a moot point.

How much longer until the hype with P3 completely fades? Bc it isn’t at all warranted based on product they’ve put out up this point

Beer Cellar still had at least 4 cases of Aspect Ratio today, 3+ days since release. So I'd say it's pretty close for the IPA's.

Garfield’s Wicker Park, the new one, had both Aspect Ratio and Chain Link and Concrete in their cooler earlier today.

Is this a troll post? Or are you just totally inexperienced with lagers?
There are very noticable differences in them, from Pilsners to helles to vienna to dopplebock to schwarzbier... they all have their unique characteristics, all would all be readily apparent in a blind tasting.
Furthermore even in particular lager styles- like pilsner, there are vast regional differences between how they are brewed; from Italy to Germany to the Czech Republic to America, etc etc

The last 3 or 4 releases have been pils and they all taste the same to me. I didn’t say all the beer is the same, I said I personally don’t notice a big enough difference in them to actively seeks a certain breweries lagers

I get what he means, though; I think there's a generic "lager" that a lot of breweries release that's basically a Helles or something, but since the general public (myself included) doesn't know shit about lagers, they just call it a "lager." Not saying they're all indistinguishable, but you can tell that some breweries are releasing the beer with the concept "for people intimidated by craft beer, this is like a better Bud."

I have 0 inside knowledge here, but based on brew time we are in range for a Curvature release this coming weekend

Update: A week did not do this beer any favors. Much less pleasant than my first can. Bummer.

But a Curvature release would be pretty awesome.
