First one I can recall was Stillwater back in like 2012ish but I'm sure there were some before then.

I disagree! If I've learned nothing on these forums, I've learned that babies get you to the front of the line and teenagers get you an extra BCBS allotment ticket that you can sell for mad profit$.

Just change a bittering hop and 1% of a grain addition, new beer!

In the podcast Shaun said Rejuiced was the exact same recipe and the exact same ingredients as Juicy, so he probably only has to change the name again

Lol, actually MORE should just contract brew Shaun to continue making their beer. Win, win. Shaun gets his own brewery and More still gets Shaun's creations.

What was shady and/or money grubbing?

From everything I've read in the MoRe thread(s) their food is awesome, beer tasty and they held fantastic events for NYE, Valentines, etc.

Can't comment myself as I've neither sampled the beer, food or visited but really perplexed here...

Don’t think this was a serious comment, but if so, can’t imagine this would ever be a possibility. Why would Shaun hurt his own business venture by providing his product (which is basically what drove more’s success from day one) for his now competitor. People want Shaun’s beers, not More’s. When they wanted more’s, it was bc Shaun brewer then.

Their GM, Evan, is leaving with Shaun. The food and events were Evan.

If you read between the lines a bit on things Shaun and Evan have said in the last few days about Phase Three like "made by honest people" and "we want to take care of our employees and people who got us here," it sure sounds like More was a lot more concerned about their expansion than their most valuable assets. And the fact that More is still silent here makes it seem like this was way worse than just a failed negotiation where the two sides couldn't come together. Seems like they rage quit, in the most polite way possible.

Yeah, this is strange to me. I say that not quite sure what they would say or how they would address it but it seems like letting this linger isn't helping themselves out at all.

Has Evan said anything about joining Phase Three?

Shaun did describe Evan as his best friend though. If your best friend was leaving your employer to start a brewery and he offered you the opportunity to do it with him, I bet 99/100 people would jump at that...

according to the podcast it sounds like Shaun and Evan let the owners know this past Monday, and only pulled the trigger then because the loan for the new space was being finalized. if this is the case, there was no transition period and no 2-weeks. i assume shit blew up and got out of hand so Shaun and Evan just peaced the fuck out.

no one knows the full story but those involved. but god damn that puts MORE in a real bad situation.

How long does it take to get a license for brewing? Days or Months? You guys want to paint it like More did something to screw over Shaun, it sounds like this was Shaun's plan all along to screw over More...".I quit, and by the way my new brewery launches tomorrow...." Why are the business owners supposed to bow down to an employee and run their business like it was some kind of charity to support Shaun? You don't close the Chicago Bulls down because Michael Jordan leaves....

again who knows what happened in the background but it definitely appears that way. quit without any notice, took the GM with him, then appears on a podcast and throws mild shade a day later. doesn't seem very professional to me at all.

    2 sides to every story.

When you have the cache that Shaun the brewer has, red tape isn’t a concern.
