There are rational reasons to dislike Mikerphone, and if you really don't like their beers and think they are overpriced, that's perfectly rational.

Acting like infection and oxidation are still problems is not rational. They haven't been problems in a while. Acting like they only brew good beers when other brewers help him out is not rational. Letting your opinions about the brewer color how you think their beer tastes (which I think some people do) is not rational. Picking out one beer, calling it their "premier" beer, and then saying you don't like the brewery because you don't like one batch of their self-appointed "premier" beer is not rational. How many people dislike Dark Lord? Does that make FFF a terrible brewery?

And yes, many people are not rational. That doesn't make it good to be irrational. I think criticizing people for not being rational is perfectly acceptable.

Can we move this to the Mikerphone thread? It's for shitposting anyway, and when we're literally shitposting about Mikerphone, it would seem logical.

Well, Phase Three brought this upon the thread by collaborating with Mikerphone in the first place. Then Bburns decided he was the great white knight and set about a Crusade to defend Mike's honor at all costs. I'll gladly shitpost about Mikerphone here or any other thread, but since I've pretty much moved on from purchasing their beers and supporting his craft already I'd just as soon forget about them altogether.

Yeah great point if someone doesn’t also blindly hate something then they must have equity

No dog in this overall argument, but I just want to point out one thing. I don't believe infection is the word you're meaning here. Infection has a very specific definition when it comes to beer. Too many people throw out this term incorrectly. Unless some of Mike's IPAs have gone sour and I'm unaware of it.

Back to the topic at hand... Pressed Hazelnuts is fantastic. I love hazelnuts so this is def my favorite Pressed so far. Then maple, vanilla, and chocolate. Hoping for coconut next!

Please take the Mikerphone shitting to their own thread.
    That’s my happy place.

Mikerphone has ruined craft beer. It's not something which can be swept nice n' tidy into a single thread. We must always be reminded. Everywhere.

How would you say it compares to Curvature B1?

Not quite on that level in my opinion. Curvature B1 was phenomenal and one of the best non-BA hazelnut stouts I have ever had. Curvature base is thicker and more robust with those excellent Ghana cocoa nibs that Shaun uses often in his stouts. Creamy and so silky smooth. The pressed porters are still great none the less.

To be fair to Phase Three, they advertise Pressed as a Porter, so I'd imagine the mouthfeel SHOULD be a bit thinner. Agreed on how amazing the mouthfeel is on the Curvature beers though...

I'm not really sure what makes Pressed a porter anyway

Yup, Pressed is an imperial porter and thicker than most imperial stouts I have drank!!

I believe one time I read Shaun's explanation of what the difference between a "stout" and a "porter" was in his mind, but I don't remember. Pressed is incredibly thick for a porter, and Imperial Falling Colors was super thick even by stout standards.

I've been deeply involved in this scene for over a decade and when my fiance asks me what the difference between a porter and stout is I get really quiet.

Funny enough, you are probably right! A great example would be More, with Imperial Falling Colors and Henna. Having tried both a few times, I'm not sure I don't prefer Falling Colors. Yet, one is impossible to buy and the other you can stroll in and pick up at your leisure.

Infection: Craft beer vernacular for "I didn't likes this"

Yeah, I was going to say the difference is about $5 bucks a can. Not sure why they would ever use porter from a financial standpoint.
