Not as dry (much sweeter, more alcohol) than NvU, but might be on par with overall perceived bitterness. Terrazzo is more piney/floral hops, whereas NvU is more at the grapefruit end of the spectrum to my palate.

I don't think it compares to anything available in Chicagoland that I've ever had... Not saying that this is Pliny but if this isn't the closest thing I've had to it I'll be damned. Terrazzo may be slightly on the sweeter side. But still.

So I looked because I thought I was crazy and haven't had it since September but.
Pliny hops are: Amarillo, Centennial, CTZ, and Simcoe
Terrazzo hops are: Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe.
    Both are 8%
    I'll leave it there

yea I’d be shocked if it finished as dry or as immaculately bitter as Pliny does. I’ll have to see if any friends have an extra can. Im hoping we find more breweries getting back into some OG IPA concepts then adding some new hops to the mix

There are only a few beers in Illinois that truly capture the essence of OG Cali hops for me. Those are Daisy Cutter, Gone Away, some WC Hop Butcher, and a few of the single hop beers from Brickstone and Revolution. It’s the dryness that really make beers like Pliny, Swami, Stone, Sculpin what they are. Most midwest IPAs have a little more body or less bitterness than famous west coast IPAs

Missed out on the Terrazzo, but really would like to have found this available but sold out within a few hours everywhere around the NW Side. Perhaps Phase Three and other brewers will see the demand for this style and start considering issuing more of this style.

If you're NW side and you want it bad, it's available at the brewery still...

I echo everything you said here. I hope they make this regularly.

    Wonderful, wonderful beer.

Had Pliny last fall when I was out for a wedding in CA. This is basically that but a tad fresher.

I ran to Binny’s this morning (Portage Park opened yesterday) not expecting to find Terrazzo on the shelf. Grabbed the 2nd to last one. That was an excellent surprise.

Awesome! Having my first one now. While it’s definitely not a Pliny, I can see the similarities. Could stand to be a bit drier, but a very good beer.

Another fan of Terrazzo. Like @mbockstruck30, if I were being picky I would prefer a notch or two drier as well. But it's a very good beer imo. I've not had the pleasure of having Pliny so cannot make any comparison there. Looking forward to seeing this one again.

Shaun does the best flavors. I want the adjuncts, all of them.

I was with you on that until I had ‘18 Mendhi. After trying it, I jumped onto the “Shaun should make more non-adjuncted BA stouts” ship

Not PtE, but doesn't have to be. Terrazzo is a welcome addition to the Chicago beer scene. The aroma was more citrus sweet and I honestly* had a fear cringe before the first sip which ended in joyful bliss.

Not sure if Phase Three releases the same beer more than once/twice a year, but I will be on the look out for this pour down the road. Would still take a PtE or Amalgamator over this one, but few others (including PtY). Would love to pour fresh side by side against my favorite Chicago WCIPA, Spiteful Brewing's 10/9 Bike Messenger Appreciation IPA, would be a great day of beer drinking for certain.
