Hmmm, I was planning on making a hefe banana bread this week (seriously, that’s actually not a joke). Might pick up the Phase Three and save my last Dovetail hefe for drinking!

Huh. The Perch is sold out at the brewery. I guess milkshake hefeweizens are more popular than I thought. I realize it could be due to a number of reasons, but I still was not expecting it to sell out.

It’s the hottest trend in craft brewing. You’re so behind the times!

Why can't the new trend be leaving lactose out more often than not?

At least they're not putting them in lagers yet...

Based on some IG posts from shops with single cans, it was a small batch. Probably a smart idea for a bizarre beer

Makes sense. I would have guessed small batch and decent amount to distro could lead to something like that. But that's still a fair amount of fluffy dudes with beards driving out to Lake Zurich for what I would think is not something in high demand. I mean there is a 5-day pickup window, so maybe that's it with all the other factors. But I'm thinking @mbockstruck30 nailed it...

Man, that’s some SERIOUS (i.e. Hop Butcher level) batch variation! But I agree that this latest Devious Methods is odd. Looks nice but flavor profile is all over the place in a bad way. Just kind of a muddled mess.

Excellent memory! Either it's batch variation or I have no palate consistency. I did look back at some other comments...

"Totally agree. Hoppy and not overly dry. Enjoyed it a lot."

"Having one now. Might be my favorite P3 IPA to date. I could stand to have it a touch more dry. It has a slight softness in the middle that touches on the modern style, but the nice bitterness on the backend makes you forget about it."

It was nothing like that this go around.

Anybody pick up Bokeh Orbs? Wondering how that turned out.

I had my first one earlier. It’s good, but not great imo. Mouthfeel is great, on par with the past couple IIPA’s. But the hop profile doesn’t pop with this one. Not a bad beer by any means, and I think he has the recipes nailed down now. This hop combo just didn’t work as well for me.

Good to know I'm not missing out with the pass then. I sat it out when I saw wheat but was still intrigued to fetch a pack if convinced.

I just had The Perch...the first 6-8 ounces were pretty good. I do love good Hefe to be honest. However it took every ounce of willpower to even come close to finishing the can. I felt like I was in my 2nd trimester I was so full and bloated.
