Phase Three is amazing. We are so fortunate that Shaun is in Chicago.

I would agree, I have 4-5 different P3 beers in the fridge and they are all excellent. Excited to see what they do in the future. I will say...I picked up some to go beer last week and was shocked at how small the taproom is. It was packed at open already, I really think they could have killed it if they made a larger space but obviously there could be many reasons they decided on the layout.

Shaun and company are returning to Villa Park this Thursday 9/17 for a tap takeover. Going to be at FUEL, like half block from MORE VP.

Sounds like they are bringing the bees...

Any thoughts on Adhara vs DDH Cloud Street? Couldn’t decide between them so I ended up buying both. I cannot, for the life of me, remember how Rakau hops taste or even if I like any beers that use it, but it was the last 4-pack they had and I have no impulse control. I’m starting to see how the fridge I bought just for beer got totally filled.

It is tight in there and even when things calm down, I don't think they wouldn't be able to cram in too many additional tables. But if I remember the conversation correctly, they may have bought the building next to them and expansion could be happening in the future.

Well, for one, Adhara is an IIPA where Cloud Street is a DDH IPA. Flavor-wise though, I found both of them to be fairly similar. CS has a slight hop bite up front, and Adhara has maybe a hair more sweetness. But they both have the smooth, creamy body we expect from P3 since they dialed in their water profile.

Yeah, a lot of those letters don’t really mean much these days. DDH Cloud Street is 7.7% ABV, same as Terrazzo and Mindspark, which were both DIPAs. So I have no idea where the line between IPA and DIPA/IIPA is anymore. I guess the DDH tells me it’ll be “soft, hazy, and juicy” but that describes a LOT of P3’s beers lately.

Sorry, had to quote myself as I used one too many negatives.

Also, it looks like new batches of Pixel Density and Far From the Tree (7.7% DIPA, Citra and Simcoe) are coming this week.

Agree about the single/double IPA point, I was just using it as a reference point (it’s honestly always been a point of contention).

Isn't there a pretty large outside seating area? I was thinking of going in a few weeks...

Absolutely, especially on the weekends when they have tables out in the fire lane (socially distanced). When things start to cool off, it will be interesting to see how they set things up.

The outdoor area is huge but only due to Covid. I can't imagine the Village will allow them to use the parking lot as tables in the future. Either way, in the winter, it will be impossible to get a seat in the taproom based upon their popularity and its size.

They had the brewery area open on Saturday during the rain. They pulled the garage doors up. That will be an option for another month or so

Triple Pixel is just excellent. I’ve felt bored with all Citra beers lately but this one is an exception for sure

blah I vaguely wanted to try that one. I ventured out today from my guarded outpost to hunt it but the hellscape vortex was insufferable and I ended up with a Pillar of Beasts instead and who knows, it’s 2020, they’re probably the same beer.

I very much agree with this. Compared to some other local hazy triples I’ve had in the past year or so (Hop Butcher, Old Irving), this is more balanced, way less sweet, and the Citra pops.

Pretty happy to see P3 being distributed down state to my area now. Oktoberfest is tasting good. If anyone from P3 hovers around here, appreciate you expanding your footprint!

I think every time P3 adds more citra and alcohol the beer gets better...So they should just keep going.

finally got to try nectar, specifically double nectar raspberry, blueberry, blackberry. probably one of the best fruited sours ive had but I did notice some of the "pulp" started to taste spoiled. oxidized like when fruit turns brown. this was subtle but definitely there.

one off keg of curvature peanut butter and jelly tapping today.
