Phase Three Brewing (2020)

You may correct, though it’s speculation which you acknowledged. Speaking just for myself, but Rev Rewards doesn’t influence how much I spend so much but rather *where* I spend. I pick up cans like Straight Jacket from the brewery rather than a retailer. Although I suppose that’s a byproduct of any membership or loyalty system.

In case anyone is curious, they responded to someone on FB yesterday that the releases this week are a new Hazy DIPA, West Coast DIPA, and a fresh batch of Pixel Density.

 

According to Phase Three they are going to regularly brew Pixel Density and P3 Pils with the stated goal of maintaining shelf space at these liquor stores.

 

“Back to our regularly scheduled programming”

 

So the three releases are: DDH Full Frame (description below), Terrazzo, and Pixel Density. All available tomorrow at 3pm.

This Wednesday we’re bringing back a beer that we first brewed about a year ago, this time with that DDH treatment.

Full Frame takes on a hefty dry hopping of PNW Citra and Amarillo hops. Huge peach, tropical fruit and pine. A beautiful expression of two hops that have managed to keep their feet firmly planted as some of consumers’ favorite hops.

 

Nice, Terrazo makes a return. Looking forward to it.

Interested to see people's thoughts on this batch of Terrazzo. b1 blew b2 out of the water for me, so hopefully b3 is closed to b1.

 

Same, especially since I have one bottle of Pliny left from my LA trip a month ago. Looking forward to seeing how dissimilar they actually are.

 

P3 Vivid Light is closer to WCIPA style, Terrazzo very good but more malt heavy/MW style.

Revolution’s DDH West Coast Hero > Vivid Light > Terrazzo

 

I loved Vivid Light, and completely agree with your assessment of Terrazzo (especially batch 2). WC Hero I enjoyed as well, but I think I preferred VL to it.

 

Just as an FYI to those that were asking about it. I actually emailed P3 back in Dec. '19 (right after the membership sign up closed) whether those that weren't able to get a membership would be added to a waitlist or if it was still too early to know. This was the response I received:

"Given the response this year, we'll likely go to more of a "raffle" type system. There are some legal concerns with such approaches and alcohol sales, but we'll try our best to adjust and make it as fair as possible for everyone."

Things absolutely changed between now and then, but at least here is a data point from about a year ago.

 

I’m digging this new batch of Terrazzo. Less syrupy and has a much cleaner finish than the last batch.
