    Yo,

I'll be in Philly the last week of April for a trade conference, staying at the Bellevue.
Any recommendations for good beer bars or bottle shops in the area or walk-able/Uber-able?
More partial to East Coast or beers that we don't get in NorCal than to Belgians but open to all suggestions.
@jzeilinger threw a few out but seeking other feedback.

Also staying at the Mondrain Soho on the 30th...looking for great places to drink/buy there as well

Hi Jake--Philly is a phenomenal city for beer. Monks is a classic spots, and you should definitely make time to have a beer there. Tria Taproom at 20th and Walnut is newer, but they always have an interesting draft list. Their menu is on an ipad, and shows you how much remains in each keg of beer, which is cool. For bottle shops, it is hard to go wrong with the Foodery. They have a couple of locations in the city, but the ones closest to you will be at 10th and Pine, and 17th and Sansom.

I'm always happy to discuss Philly, and there are countless beer bars and restaurants worth visiting. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions.

Monk's, Good Dog and Jose's are literally around the corner. Tria, Dandelion, Fergie's and BRU are very close with Strangeloves and the Cambridge just a couple blocks further.

For a real treat, stop in McGlinchy's, right next to Jose's.

Not a bottle shop guy, so I can't help you there.

<Edit> Perch Pub is also close, a walk across Broad Street. Watch the cabs!

A long with what has been mentioned above, which are great recommendations, there is fountain porter, bainbridge barrel house, khyber pass and varga bar just to name a few more bars. Memphis Taproom is an awesome suggestion and by the end of april the beer garden will be open to the public and in full swing. A lot of the bars mentioned you can walk to, and you're right by the subway which can take you to a lot more of them.

As for bottle shops, the fooderies get good beer, but they mark up pretty hard, the one in rittenhouse (samson and 17th) isn't owned (or there is some weird arrangement) by the same people as the others and prices slightly better, especially on local stuff.

There is also Brew (good selection, smaller, also pricey, but also sell great coffee), Northern liberties beer (they keep their stock up to date on beermenus.com), and if you're out near tired hands any one of the days, there is the ardmore beer shoppe which sometimes has some gems.

I have yet to be even slightly impressed by the selection at Corner Foodery (which isn't on a corner!?). You'd probably be better off going a few blocks down to Monde Market, to be honest, which seems to have seriously upped their game in the last couple of years.

they called it corner foodery bc when they first opened, they partnered with corner bakery. now i think it's just called foodery.

I live a block down from monde and they have declined since whoever was buying their beer left last year. They have a nice selection but don't get all the harder to find bottles that only come to philly in small quantities, but they do price better than a lot of other shops. The foodery has more local releases than a lot of places get, like shawnee craft and free will, but a lot of the rarer stuff comes and goes pretty quick and the rest of their selection is the same as anywhere else, but more expensive. I was able to grab a sump there the other week.
