So I have a nice cache of beer that I want to share, hopefully in turn for some other nice beers that other people will be willing to share. Problem is, I have never been to a bottle share / tasting, so I don't know who to talk to. I don't know where we could host it either, but I was thinking maybe at the plateau or somewhere else in Fairmount park? Or maybe a kind soul could host it?

I'm definitely bringing a '12 Black Tuesday, and a '12 White Chocolate. I'm also considering bringing a 08-12 World Wide Stout vertical, and a 10-13 KBS vertical. Hell, maybe even a Cantillon bottle.

Does anyone else wanna throw in some good beer and make this happen?

That is a shit ton of high ABV beer for one person to bring to a tasting. I would think about spreading it out over several tastings. You could invite five other people and they wouldn't have to bring anything else. That being said, I have a shitty work schedule but I'm always up for a tasting.

I want it to be a big share, and I am definitely drinking the WC and BT on the same day. I can save the KBS and WWS verticals. Let me know, though man. I'd love for this to go down.

From NYC but would potentially be willing to travel pending date and what not.

Philly Tap Finder and Philly Beer Scene have co-hosted a couple tastings at BYO restaurants in the city before - I'd keep an eye out for the next one. People usually sign up and post what they're going to bring in advance.

if you plan on doing anything in Fairmount, let me know, since I could ride a bike there.
basically it's as simple as finding a couple guys and a location. 1 to 2 bottles per person is all you need, though.
once you figured out when and where you can have it. start a random BM with some of the area people and let them know about it. or post here. I've learned that leaving it very open does not get anything done around here.
but if you actually want more than a 1 ounce pour of your beers, I would not try to make it "big"

also what xnicknj said. if you want a big bottle share, just go to one of those. imho it'll be really hard to get one going yourself if you don't already have a tasting group or 5.

The next PTF/PBS share is Sunday, June 23rd. Location to be announced. I think your Black Tuesday would be in good company here

Moving to West Philly on June 1st and would love to get in on that, especially the WC. Could bring a 750mL sour as a palate cleanser...Night Shift Cape Codder Weisse might be a nice treat for those in PA who haven't gotten to try their Berliners. Happy to bring something else if not.

I'm currently not a part of any official tasting groups, aside from sharing some occasional fantastic brews with close family and/or friends. I like the idea and would be happy to participate and contribute if you decide to set something up. Let's do this!

Oh great - the day after Lansdale Beer Fest - now I have a reason not to overdo it there...

This outdoor venue will be able to accomodate more people (about 100) so hopefully most people that are interested will be able to get in. I'm very excited about this one. I will send out the details via Facebook and Twitter at least several weeks before 6/23.

Ah, Philly Tap Finder, I actually was the one who commented on your Facebook post asking how to get into this tasting.

I'd love to get together with a tasting group. I have far, far too much beer collected.

Let me know man! My 'cellar' is a little humble, but I definitely have some stuff that's worth while.
