If I go, I'll half-ass two bar stools.

Some of today's (Thurs. 6/7) likely major happenings:

    - De Dolle Afternoon/Deschutes Night at Monk's (I think the only Deschutes PBW event)
    - Sansom Street Soiree (big U. City block party)
    - IPA fest at Capone's
    - 3x8 project (25 one-offs) at Farm Cab
    - maybe Ballast Point at Good Dog (with the Cascade-hopped Sculpin firkin)

Also of note (heard about this a couple days ago), for those in the Bucks County area, Doylestown is doing their own Philly Beer Night where a bunch of bars are all doing events concurrently (including a couple market debuts: Evolution and Finch) - http://beeradvocate.com/events/info/54959

This might be the BIGGEST surprise of PBW. This beer still on tap nearly a day after being tapped. Hard to believe Harry!

Black Note was still pouring at City Tap House when I left there yesterday around 6pm. It was like nobody even saw it on the list. They tapped it at 10pm Tuesday night. If heading over there, I would call to confirm, just to be safe.

Went to Monks tonight. Had a couple Pliny's at our table while we waited then we tried all the Deschute's beers in the building.

My favorite was the Black Butte XIII.

Monk's runs the most professional beer week events. They start on time. Not early and are fair. The place is obviously small but well run.

    Thank you Monk's

Farmers Cabinet killed it tonight. Tried each of the Stillwater Raritea treatments, not a bad offering in the bunch. Had a few of the Cabinet Sungasm offerings, quite nice as well. Evil Twin's Soured Bikini beer nailed the sour IPA!

What time is everyone getting to Teresa's tomorrow? I know the event is at 1 but they open at 11:30 and I assume there will be a line outside even before that...

Likewise. However, I'll admit that I'm a bit concerned about the size of the expected crowd. I'd get there earlier if I could, but have to go into the office for a couple of hours before driving up to Teresa's.

To be on the safe side, I think it only prudent to have a back up plan, depending upon how crazy it is at Teresa's on Saturday. I hear Saturday is "leftovers" day at Capone's, and God knows I'd love to sample some Black Note before leaving town (if that's even possible on Saturday). The Nodding Head event looks interesting as well.

    Decisions, decisions...

I went to PJ Whelihans last night for their $3 craft beers / Fegley's event. Ordered a Brewvolution Belgian Black IPA (the collab between Prism/Round Guys/Evil Genius). Bartender hands it to me and it's bright gold. I was like uhhhh I don't think this is right. She says yeah it is, I used the Brewvolution tap handle. So after explaining that black IPAs are usually black (or at least dark brown), she finally gets a manager to look at it. Apparently they never even tapped the keg, and it was still whatever it was 2 days prior. I waited for about 10 minutes before she finally just went to the inside bar to get one.

We went to Capone's after that. I guess you can't understate the importance of a properly trained wait staff (or properly trained customers, considering it was like that since Wednesday night and no one said anything).

Anyone know the lineup for Barrel Aged Extravaganza at The Twisted Tail tonight?

I'm looking for an event in the city to hit tonight. HF at Boilermaker could be a winner too. Any other recommendations?

Foobooz threw this up yesterday saying that it will be at the Cambridge - http://philadelphia.foobooz.com/2012/06/07/get-a-sneak-peek-at-the-cambridge/

I guess I'd call Hawthorne's ahead of time just to make sure. Either way, the two spots are separated by about 6 city blocks.

    Cambridge - 1508 South St.
    Hawthorne's - 738 S. 11th Street (at Fitzwater St.)

I guess now would be a good time for my daily guesses of major happenings. Stacked Friday lineup:

    - All Day Wood at Resurrection Ale House (serious draft lineup)
    - Hill Farmstead/Grassroots at Jose Pistola's (lunch) and Boilermaker (night)
    - Maine Beer Co/ 3 Floyds products at the Cambridge/Hawthorne's
    - Stockertown Showcase at Pinocchio's (prob. their best lineup of the week)
    - Zytamore Project showcase (B. United's barrel-aging program) at Farmer's Cabinet
    - maybe Seattle crew (Bottleworks/Brouwer's) at Fergie's
    - just saw that even Xfinity Live is doing a beer festival tonight. Uh-oh!

    Stay safe out there!
