Will do . Pretty light right now in terms of a crowd but that will likely change as the event approaches.

Thanks so much. Might go South to get the Berlinner and Bonita even if it means passing on the Last Snow. No crowd vs. big crowd.

Still a few seats, doesn't even seem as crowded as a typical Friday night...yet.

Can anyone recommend a good event for Thursday evening that won't be very crowded? Don't care about music and to some degree food. I would prefer more than one brewery but mostly looking for some solid beers. I will be coming from Maryland so anything on that side of Philly would be better. I was wanting to go to mid day but not much going on then. I am considering Capone's but I am looking for more information.

I could bring up some beers (from Texas) if anyone wants to do a trade in person. I could bring a growler or two. (Live Oak Hefeweizen, 512 ALT, Karbach IPA or double IPA, Saint Arnold double IPA) BM me.

Thurs. midday I would say either Grey Lodge (if you're a Pils guy, solid bottle selection too... nothing mind blowing) or Capone's. Capone's is doing an IPA fest all day starting at noon and it'll likely get packed but not until people get out of work (likely 5ish). They have an awesome bottle shop too. For Thursday night, a couple "sleepers" are -

De Dolle at Memphis Taproom (4 taps + 8 more from other breweries incl. 2 casks and they have a strong bottle selection with many vintages).

Unibroue Beer and Poutine event at Khyber Pass Pub (Khyber consistently has a strong tap collection of 22 beers and really good food - Cajun/Creole/Southern).

The Prohibition Taproom FB/CC event was amazingly well run. Some of the best bartending skills I've ever seen! Glad I could try Bonita Applebaum...yum. It was nice to try No Crusts and Last Snow again. "Citron Parti"...uh...well to me it tasted like acetone but I guess it was nice to try it anyway. Tomorrow I will probably hit up Farmers Cabinet/St.Stephen's. Then, probably save up for a Florida beercation.

Went to the Founder's Lunch at Jose Pistolas today, it was mobbed! They sold out of CBS before everyone got one. I had a CBS, KBS '11, KBS '12 and 2 Better Half...glad I took the train in. The staff did a great job handling the crowd.

Then headed over to Good Dog for the Firestone event, and had the Velvet Merklin & Wookey Jack. They had Heady Topper in cans, but they sold out before I could get one. Overall a nice event.

It was an amazing day of beers!

Maybe it was jut me, but the Snow did not taste right. The beer I had tonight was not as nearly coconut forward as I had on Sat at Capones. Did anyone else feel that they were drinking a different beer tonight? The Bonita was gret though. I had it first and had a water between beers, but the Snow seemed very different tonight.

Thanks. \m/ I'm not really a "metalhead" though, just more of a jack of all genres, with a leaning towards the heavier, darker, and more complex. Hey, just like my taste in beer!

Before going to Prohibition, I checked out Farmers' Cabinet for their Struise collaboration beers. That Batch 10 red wine / apple brandy barrel aged quad is damn tasty, and the Archaic dark sour is not bad either.

The Last Snow was a little more coffee forward until it warmed a bit and then the coconut was just as present as it was before when I had it at Capone's. So glad I could try it again.

Thanks to you and Girl for the responses. I really wonder if I got a different beer. The beer I had seemed really woody, almost barrel aged to some extent. I am pretty sure it was a Snow since they had a # of them poured and I don't think that there were any CCB beers that were being pre-poured. I really liked the Bonita though. Happy to have had multiple chances on Buddha beers. The Bonita and Passion Fruit Berlinners were still on early in the evening at Tapestry. Assume that they kicked but maybe worth calling today for lunch.

I was hoping to try Bonita Applebum because of the song from one of the greatest hip hop acts of all time:

...and if you need 'em, I got crazy prophylactics. Oh, well. Can't try them all...

The Philly Beer Geek finals is interesting this year. Two Weyerbacher employees and one former Yards employee who was also a judge last year along with three people I don't really know. Will make for an interesting night.

Was finally able to get into town for beer week, stayed at the Comfort Inn Monday night and left on Tuesday. Had an awesome time and stopped at most of the places I had been wanting to check out, I would kill for some bars like these to be near me.

Highlight of the trip was the Bear Republic event at Kite and Key. They brought in Tartare and Altered Beast along with a few others, but those two stood out the most to me. Also had a nice conversation with the owner of Bear Republic, very nice man. I begged him to bring Bear back into the Harrisburg market...lol.

Like I said, I had an awesome time and am already trying to find a reason to head back down for a pub crawl and hit the places that I didn't get a chance to stop at on this trip.
