    It is fast approaching.
    http://www.phillybeerweek.org/

Official dates are May 29th-June 7th.

I just found out I will be away for Army training the whole time- so I am not happy about it. But I will live vicariously through all of you.

If anyone has not been to Philly during PBW, I think you need to do it at some point.

Never been to PBW, but I plan on checking it out this year. Anything specific I should hit up or does it change every year?

It changes every year. The best thing to do is download the app from the philly beer week website. I would link it but I'm posting from my phone.

Agreed- Philly Beer Week website/app is best bet. Events are just starting to get populated- keep checking the next couple weeks as more things get added to the calendar.

I agree with everyone about the app. You can go through the events and 'favorite' them or something. then it will populate a calendar for you. Just beware- the weekend events can get very busy with lines included.

To expand on this, most events aren't even announced until a week or 2 before PBW; and a final taplist for most events won't typically be available until a few days before PBW starts, and even then ones towards the end of the oddly long Week are probably not going to have full taplists.

There are a few events every year where you pretty much know what to expect. Second Sunday will be Russian River Day at Local 44, which has the 5 standard RR brews (Blind Pig, Pliny the Elder, Temptation, Consecration, and Supplication), and usually a couple others. PoPE's Founders event will likely feature all of the previous year's backstage releases. Nodding Head is currently non-existent, but used to host a killer Lost Abbey event every year; last year's featured Duck Duck Gooze. Resurrection Ale House is on permanent hiatus, but had a freaking ridiculous rotating selection of wood-aged beers during the aptly named "All Weekend Wood" that was always worth stopping by - in fact, I hope to god Brendan and Leigh will be having this at one of their other venues. It freaking rocked.

Any chance of Surly coming back for an event this year again?

Dammit. That's hard for me to get to. I'm surprised they're pre-empting their usual PBW event whose name escapes me.

What a perfect time to join BA! I just realized that the Philly Beer Week is coming up at the end of May...and I'm on vacation for the whole week. HA! I've been wanting to go and this is perfect timing. I'll get my daughter (Des.Driver) and her husband (Chef) to go.
Looks like a good time to taste, eat and review. This should be fun. The Allagash Sausage Bash looks very interesting.

I dunno about them but some of the rarely seen (in this area) breweries doing PBW this year are Other Half, Midnight Sun, Columbus, and Draai Laag.

Good luck with training. If you're back the week after, there's typically plenty of leftovers. Two years ago, I was able to have KBS for three straight days. One place let me fill my stainless steel water jug for the price of a pour.

Let us know when your training is and maybe we can share some beer with you. Proper send off or welcome home.

Definitely excited to try some half acre that I haven't had. Also keeping an eye on the cigar city/ perennial event at strangeloves. I've been meaning to check that bar out anyway.

First Barcade list just came out (they have about 25 taps so this one is likely not even halfway finished) -

Tues 6/2 - New Holland Night
Thurs 6/4 - IPA Takeover (All Day)
Fri 6/5 - Ship Bottom Night
Sat 6/6 - Bourbon Barrel Drafts Takeover (All Day)
