- This is the first Other Half taplist I've seen (Local 44 - Fri 6/5). The other 2 bars that are confirmed to have events with them that I know of are Jerry's Bar (Thurs 6/4) and Bainbridge Street Barrel House (Sat 6/6) - http://www.beeradvocate.com/events/info/74459/

- Some bars that I've noticed recently posting a lot of lists are Bru/U-Bahn, Varga, and Good Dog.

- Those looking for Columbus stuff, there's Churchville Inn (Sun 5/31), Devil's Den (Mon 6/1), and Barcade (Wed 6/3).

Glad there's already a post about PBW. I'm in A.C. this weekend, but I should be attending some events next week/weekend.

I'm especially interested in events at the Churchville Inn because it's ten minutes from my house. Mildly upset I'm missing the Hill Farmstead event, but I could definitely do Funky Buddha on the 3rd.

Finally, I just downloaded the PBW app, and it's very legit. But be sure to check out www.phillytapfinder.com for tap lists — that website is awesome.

 

So who are the out of town / first time in Philly / can't miss breweries this year? Like who is this year's Surly? There's names I don't recongize but I don't know anything about em...

 

Question re: capones sour fest this Saturday; I'm working and staying very close by and my wife and are planning to swing by for dinner and beer around 8pm. Will it be impossible to get a table to eat? I assume you can get any beers on tap at your table. They don't take reservations do they?

I'm sure a lot of the rarer stuff will be long kicked by then but my understanding of past events is that Matt has plenty of kegs and keeps pulling stuff out all night, correct?

Also anything else nearby that evening? Don't want to head into the city.

 

At the risk of inflating the attendance at their events (not like my word means much), my guess would be Other Half. They don't quite have the reputation/whale status of something like Darkness, but anything I've had from them has been outstanding. Other breweries might have more events or bring more stuff, but assuming the OH events bring their goods, I bet they will leave a mark.

Was Oxbow here last year? I don't remember, or at least don't remember them having an event a day like they seem to this time around, but they would be another good bet.

Why not just call Capone's and ask these questions? Nobody on here is going to be able to give you more accurate answers than their own employees.

 

That's actually the only one that I saw that I decided I had to hit! I got to try a few of their beers last time I was in NYC and have been counting down the days till they distro here in PHL.

 

For me, Hill Farmstead would be the can't miss. Might have to go to Bainbridge Barrel House next saturday because I can't make their Churchville Inn Event.

Also, I definitely plan on going to the Splintered Sunlight (Dead cover band) x Terrapin event at City Tap House Univ. City. They're going to have BA wake-n-bake and french toasted w-n-b, both of which have been on my whale list for a couple of months.

 

This is going to be a shitshow. If you thought last year was a mess (we waited 45 minutes for a pour after stuff was tapped...)

But man, that list... can't not go. And I like the staff at Churchville and it's obviously a gorgeous space, I just hope they pre-pour leading up to tap time or something this time around.

 

Where is the Other Half Event? (Regarding Philly Beer week.)
