Last year (on the Saturday to start the week) a few friends (from the other site) saidthey went to a pretty good bottleshare at a hotel to kick off the weeks festivities. I was there on Friday but had to leave saturday Morning. Does anyone know anything about this year?
I think the other site's annual Summer Gathering was in Philly last year over the first weekend of Philly Beer Week, so it could have been the Grand Tasting that they do as part of it. If that's the case, the gathering changes locations every year and is not in Philly in 2012. Doesn't mean another tasting couldn't be put together, though...
It could be something else, too. I just recall the event last year as I had wanted to go up to PBW from DC and remember seeing the RBSG coinciding with the timing. However, I didn't go since I moved cross-country the week before. I also haven't lived in Philly since 08, so someone else still in the Philly area may have more insight if something else was going on last year and is happening again this year.
