Yikes. $19 seems pretty steep for Supplication.

Yup, use this link to compare: https://www.beermenus.com/beers/russian-river-supplication and use 19123 zip code for the area. $20 over at Beer Heaven BEFORE tax. I don't even want to know what BBE charges.

I'm sure it's consistant with other Philly bottle shop prices, just high in general. FWIW, I paid $11 at Whole Foods in Glen Mills.

Agreed. This isn't steep at all.

BTW, Hey! I shop at your store every so often!

That's well below the price at the brewery! Wonder how it works with Whole Foods in general. I know @beerkim got a bottle of Vanilla Rye at WF Devon for under $13.

It wasn't even on the shelf there. I went in towards closing and was chatting up the girl working and asked if they had anything in back besides BCBS (this was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, they had their 3 cases but wouldn't sell me a bottle) She pulled out the Supplication, which they only had a case of.

Hell, their bottles of BCBS were only $5.25/ea. That's well below the $7-15 most places were charging.

I can see BCBS being that price as it's still above retail, but selling Supplication at below retail? They must get major discount from RR, but that doesn't seem possible as RR goes through retail distro, which I assume has a set price.

There's never any discount on RR, trust me. Some of the prices in Wf's system just haven't been updated for awhile, while the wholesale case prices have gone up in that time. What happens then is that whole foods doesn't make as much as they want to because of the old pricing, which means a great deal for the consumer. As I remember, supp, consec, sanct, and tempt were all under $13, while damnat and redempt were $5.49 each. Oh, and officially everything in this post is completely hypothetical, of course

That's insane. I just bought two bottles for $13 each (no tax) in Paoli last week.

I like Supplication, but even $13 was pushing it for me. No way would I pay $19+.

Unfortunately, not everyone can drive to the suburbs for beer, especially on 76 both ways to save $6. If you're lucky to find a case in Philly, it's about $15/ea...if you're lucky and have the cash. $19 is high, no doubt, but it's not out of the ordinary for Philly.

19 is pretty much standard in Philly, Monde charges 19 for supp as well. Fooderies charge like 23 or something in that range. Food and friends charges 21ish for consecration so I would imagine the same for supplication. Northern liberties beers definitely has some of the cheapest prices around on other stuff.

Oh I'm not arguing that, I just don't think it's worth the high price. There are plenty of other options out there, that are cheaper, which stack up equally as good IMO.
