Tickets for Philly Craft Beer Festival went on sale this week. Is it worth attending? If so is VIP worth the extra cash?
I'm not a huge fan of beer fests but just from looking at their website they list the 2013 VIP beers and most of them don't seem worth being a VIP for considering a lot of them you could walk into a bottle shop right now and pick them off the shelf. If you're new to craft beer it's a way to try a lot of different beers. Although for $76 you could buy a couple of mixed cases or a bunch of bottles and make your own fest.
Actually I have been pretty pretty spoiled in terms of beer festivals being originally from Michigan.. Great Taste of The Midwest, Summer/Winter Michigan beer festival, Barrel Aged Fest in Chicago, Dark Lord Day, etc. I went to the Landsdale beer festival over the summer and was really disappointed, and I heard mediocre things about the KoP one a few months ago, so I just wasn't sure if this one was worth going to. Any time I see "It's in FORBES Top 10 Beer Festivals" it makes me a little leary...
I would try this one. http://www.theblockley.com/event/363355-philadelphia-winter-beer-fest-philadelphia/ It is a good time and they feed you also. I have worked the last two and most likely work this years.
