When it’s nice out, yes. Not so much in the cold though.

Vinyl is pretty good, Tom Foolery is also good. Three 3s was one saison and eight IPAs the last time I was there. If you head down there, you have to check out Bagliani's Italian Market, outstanding.

Looks like Tom Foolery closed. Chimney Rustic Ales looks kinda promising tho.

    Thanks y’all!!

Just wanted to update to say that Glory Bar's website says they have outdoor dining...

Fair enough. They may have added more than the few small tables. I haven't been for at least a couple months now. That said if it's just two people, and they have a heater or two, it should be manageable if it's not freezing even if they didn't add something more on the sidewalk or street like some places.

Right. I figure we'll check it out and always have options for other places - Martha, Local 44 etc

Thanks again for all the info, fellers!!

I was looking at the photos in the link that @OGShotzy provided above. It sure appears they built this outside decked area in the street. I must confess I am quite surprised that they received permission from the city of Philadelphia to take over street parking. Kudos to the city government to permit this to happen.

    Cheers!

I'm happy the city has allowed some leniency in this respect as well. Not a big deal for Human Robot that isn't in a highly-trafficked area, but they've allowed this sort of thing all over the city -- there was even been a few block(s?) of Old City streets shut down entirely to allow for restaurants and bars to set up safely-spaced outdoor areas in the fall (I'm assuming this probably isn't still in effect given the weather, but it may be). It had a European feel, seeing the pedestrian-only thruways. Silver linings!

Glory bar's most recent post today mentioned outdoor tables, so just to re-re-confirm it, you're good to go. I'd go there, no question, unless it's a large group, in which case I'd call ahead to check the deal. Great list at this time looks like, whatever your go to, which to me beats any brewery in the Philly area other than tired hands (minus their lack of stouts), but I'm sure plenty of people would disagree!
I should mention though they got lackadaisical with the instagram updates, but the app they have that I have used appears to be updated.

Sorry for disappearing for a bit. Had to go drink all the beers with my buddy!

So we tried Glory Bar during their hours - I even emailed to confirm they'd be open - but they were closed. Frustrating. Same thing happened at Lunar/Tinys.

Human Robot was good. That outdoor area was nice and the beers were totally solid.

Re: the scene in NJ, Tonewood said they have outdoor seating but then closed it Saturday morning; Vinyl was totally decent and Three 3's was solid. Eight and Sand, and particularly, Chimney, were subpar for me. Couldn't drink anything at Chimney.

I will say, Martha, which is already my favorite bar, was set up PERFECTLY and they had Oxbow Pinkette, which was RIGHT up my alley.

Thanks again for all the thoughts, ya'll. We had an awesome time, and it was great to visit a bunch of places for beers and grab a little slice of normalcy.

This thread is almost (but not quite) enough to make me want to move to Philly!
