Planning on stopping at Monk's on Saturday 6/14 on the way to D.C. How difficult is it going to be to park the car safely?

Safely you shouldn't have any issues at all. Monks is in a pretty busy and perfectly safe section of Philly. More than likely though you'll have to put it in a parking garage since finding street parking on a Saturday can be a circle of hell.

I prefer a garage. Thanx. The safety thing was more about what's in the vehicle - like luggage, etc. SUV - no trunk.

Even in a parking garage or busy street, keep your belongings covered/out of sight. Remove any indicators that you have a portable nav system such as wind shield mount. Garages all have signs saying not responsible for belongings in vehicles.

Thanx. I know. I drive into NYC and park in garages. It's why I don't have a portable nav system and have tinted rear windows.

There is a parking garage right around the corner from Monk's. Very convenient.

What a relief. Little or no walking.

Don't you have one of those things in the back of your SUV that keeps the contents of the trunk covered? Personally, I'd trust street parking during the daytime in a busy pedestrian area over a garage any day for keeping my belongings safe. At least in that neighborhood.

Hmmmm. Makes me think twice. I do remember something you can pull over the area behind the back seat, but anyone who sees that will know there's something valuable below it. Anyway, there won't be any beer in there so if anything should get stolen out of the vehicle, it's easily replaced.

Honestly, parkiing during the day in the area surrounding Monk's is probably safer than most mall parking lots. That area is teeming with pedestrians and a constant flow of traffic. Unless you leave a laptop on the seat I wouldn't even be concerned.
