Phish in Worcester, MA

The Dive Bar has two post phish shows in the beer garden. Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck are playing. Plus we're opening early for pregame. 3pm

 

I'll join for beers but opt out of shows.

 

Dive doesn't update often but the list is always great. Armsby Abbey is much closer to the DCU and is amazing

 

I'll be there drinking aged Gueze and some other bombs from my cellar. I'll be child free and Thursday is my birthday. I'm betting they open with a Beasties cover, maybe Sabotage or Fight for Your Right.

 

Where do you plan on drinking the bombers? There's a parking garage across the street from the DCU and a few small parking lots but nothing that big where you can just drink out in the open really.

 

Skip the bombers and go to the Armsby Abbey for the pre-show lubricants. The beer selection is top notch, the food is amazing, and it's only a stones throw from the DCU. You will not be disappointed.

 

Get to Armsby early on the Friday if you can because its the "cool" spot to go and gets mobbed fairly early after work on Friday.

 

um, it's going to be mobbed both nights already, this additional advertising not withstanding. love my local, love summer tour, kinda hate dealing with them both on the same night.

 

I'm staying at a hotel a few minutes from the show, pre-lube there with sours and then onto the Armsby for another before the show. Afterwards who knows but I've got plenty of IIPA to bring down in growlers.

 

If you were drinking in the parking lot I was just going to stop showering now show up and pretend I was a Phish fan and try to mooch off your sours.

 

Armsby is standard procedure for me before any Centrum event, but especially before Phish or Further. Getting there early enough to get a seat will be the trick.

If it's anything like years past (I keep expecting the cops to prevent it from happening, but it always seems to), the parking lot off of Exchange Street by the venue will be Shakedown St., and it will be insane. You could probably drink your bombers there amid the chaos. I usually pass through there on the way to the venue for a Sierra, then into Moynagh's (a great Worcester dive bar) for a Schlitz.

These shows will be fun, regardless of what they play.

 

Ill be hitting both nights, and as someone from the area I would concur with getting there early. Theres gonna be a lot of post-show shenanigans with lots of local bands playing too, so expect it to be quite crowded, especially if this weather holds up.

 

So when did Phish get back together full time. I recall them retiring then just doing a one off reunion show for something or other I think.

 

Been back in the habbit since march of 2009, just less tours now. I hope they never stop again, I'm definately losing sleep over anticipation but come thursday I'll be popping bottles page side
