Most remote would have to go to Matutu brewing on the island of Rarotonga. http://matutubeer.com/ We found this little brewery on our trip through the Cook Islands. The brew master was really cool and supplied the locals with real beer as opposed to the imports from New Zealand and Australia. Price was about the same but the beer has real flavor. Dude didn't have any bottles so I just to a 2 liter coke bottle of the ale straight from the bright tank. Good stuff. On the island of
Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa I found a great 12 pack of beer from New Zealand https://photos.google.com/search/beer/photo/AF1QipOtQB8teew7os3UwngDQJ4J_iSpf2lvKSktTHZc east india Pale all with real flavor

I know it, the release was on my birthday, that was why I drove up. I was driving up already, half way there, when they announced the double weekend pick-up. That's besides the point though, not sure what point you were making, when we arrived on time, which was @ 11am when it released, before they even opened the tap room, the roads were almost all flooded coming in. The guy I was meeting for an IP trade was stuck at his house, trapped from the floods.

Don't feel too bad, the brewery was not open to the public anyway. I don't even know if you can find their bottles there. Pretty much everything they Brew is delivered to WI's metro areas.

HF, no reason to be in Greensboro Bend unless you live there or your going to HF. The last stretch is a gravel road, and I can't imagine doing this in Winter, it's an hour from anywhere. Nantahala Brewery is remote too, even from Asheville it's an hour , if your a Western Carolina student it's not to far.

@treznor , I was also going to say 49th State, since it's about 250 mile drive north of Anchorage. I was also at Denali Brewpub, but not Silver Gulch (but drank some of their beer).

I realized Missouri Breaks Brewing, that I've had a few beers at, would be up there too. It was a 5.5 hour drive from Billings, Montana.

Furthest from home would be Orkney Brewery in the Orkney Islands, off of the northern Scottish coast.

At the time that I was in Alaska (summer 2014) we hit all the breweries that weren't in the lower peninsula. Didn't necessarily do it on purpose at first but once we realized we'd hit the hard-to-get to ones (Silver Gulch, Denali, 49th State, Homer) we figured we might as well round it out  Actually ended up going to both 49th State and Silver Gulch twice.

Ironically when I was at 49th State in 2011, they had opened fairly recently I think (I actually added the place on BA), and they didn't have any of their own beers on tap, just guest taps.

I believe that technically the most remote brewery is Zion Canyon Brewing Co., as in it's the furthest from the next nearest brewery and is located on the edge of a huge parcel of national park.

My most demanding release was waiting all night for '15's Bourbon County release. Zwanze Day '14 kinda sucked too.

I'd consider New Glarus pretty remote. I drove from Chicago to WI for no other reason. I guess it's not technically remote due to its proximity to Madison though, but coming from the south you see practically nothing for hours. Of course, Hill Farmstead is up there. Toppling Goliath and Oxbow also seem to be very out of the way.

Nothing too hard to get unless you count standing outside in winter hard...

Baranof Island is in Sitka, Kodiak Island Brewing is aptly named for being located on Kodiak Island. Neither can be reached other than by long boat rides or by plane.

Been weathered in on Kodiak and in those little planes it feels pretty remote.

I have to echo HF and add the entire Vermont experience. It's just a looooong drive, very scenic but loooong. There's not much along the way except for cheese, maple syrup and skiing or hiking depending on the time of year. With all that said, I only have 2 lonely heady left from my last visit so I'll be headed back soon.

I've only waited in lines with bad weather and early starts a handful of times. For me they were more mentally demanding than physically demanding. More of a "what the hell am i doing with my life?" as opposed to "oh man, this is tough!"

As for physically demanding I'll throw out 2015 Darklord Day! We arrived to rain and stood in a large muddle puddle called the line to get in for about 90mins. Then more lines for pours and to get the beer. I was pretty tired after that!

Avery might have been the.most remote even though it is in a populated area as I was visiting Denver at the time and arrived from there. A bit of a drive greats you with a small sign that's not the easiest to spot. (Or at least when I was there 5 years ago)

Most remote brewery for me is Hill Farm. Love going in the dead of winter. It's so beautiful.

Most physically demanding release? Probably Dark Lord Day. I've been the last 3 years. The weather is unpredictable, the lines are the stuff of nightmares, and the bottle shares the night before demand that you snort 3 cans of red bull to get up at 6am and get in line for another bottle share. But all in all, it's a great time every time!

Gunnison Brewery in CO was pretty remote. Town is 2 hours from Grand Junction. Nothing there but a college and a brewery.

While yes it's a long drive to Hill Farmstead, I absolutely love driving those back roads of VT.

Cuvee de Castleton in like 2010 or 11. The way it was set up, they said they would put a deli ticket machine outside the brewery at a random time the night before. People showed up before midnight (I think) wich about 10-12 hrs before they opened. It was single digits temp wise. The ticket machine was placed outside and it was pretty much ravaged and destroyed with people taking several tickets instead of their just one. Pretty much mayhem. Bottle share was pretty good though.
