Hello there, looking to find one of each, eventually.-I do not how many bottles were released? or how rare they are now? I have the three and fourth so I'm wanting to complete the vert. Just looking to see a general sense of the trade value. Side note i do know that BA PIAPT is REAL rare, is the non BA that rare as well? Just looking for some info! Thanks
Yes. 'Regular' PiaPT is a very white wale. Two Turtle Doves was around for a long time, but I think it's getting to be harder to trade for now, as well.
A white whale basically means you need to give up your left testicle, first born son, or a super rare beer in exchange for it. It's very hard to track down as the bottle counts were limited and anybody sitting on one at this point is likely keeping it to make the vertical with. (Or to sell for $10,000 after year #12)
This makes me depressed, i really wanted this beer..i guess i should try and obtain it soon before it is ever harder to get.
If you really must have it I think getting it now is the way to go. People complained about its rise to power at the time, but those who didn't act just got left further and further behind. That said, it isn't actually a vertical either, and it isn't aging that great either, it is really just an item for collectors. A bottle count was never given but Batch 1 was 2157 bottles, and it wouldn't be far fetched to think this was in the same ballpark. It saw limited local distribution. It was purely a sleeper hit--if everyone had known they should have hoarded it then it wouldn't be so hard to get. I'd trade a six pack for a Dave if anyone wants in on that. BA Partridge was given to the first 200 members of the Reserve Society 2010. More limited in number, but nobody took it for granted either. 2TD was widely distributed, The Bruery's distribution chain exploded between the beginning and end of 2009 when this was released.
Yeah, PiaPT really blew up in rarity after I bought it, liking it well enough to hang on to. Earlier this year, I traded my one remaining bottle for the following: 2010 Bruery Melange No. 3 2010 Surly Darkness 2010 3 Floyds Dark Lord Baller Stout Kuhnhenn's 4th Dimentia And then the guy kicked in a Founders Backwoods Bastard as an extra. I sent him an Almanac Summer 2010 Vintage Blackberry. I still felt guilty. I just got lucky by happening to buy the beer that went crazy in value.
