Your post was referring to a Helles I believe. I saw a Mahr's Hell at the liquor store, bottled on date was "275." What the hell (no pun intended) does that mean?

Jever's US labels are dated "American" style- Month-Day-Year. The case I bought earlier this week is labeled Best Before 02-20-13 (the case itself just says "02/2013").

MillerCoors' dates for US-labeled Pilsner Urquell (and most of their other Euro imports) are based on a 9 month shelf-life period (as noted on the old US Miller website, confirmed via 800 number). Most other European imports of "average" ABV are usually 1 year.

Oh God, if that's the case, there's like 8 500 mL bottles there for $3.70/bottle. I know where I'm headed on Saturday.

You'll be able to tell immediately if they are fresh or not. Mahr's Helles is a very good beer when fresh; when not, it has a distinct heavy honey-ish taste, and is often cloudy (matter of fact, hold it up to the light before purchasing; if you see any hint of cloudiness, don't get it). If it's fresh...well, then, Prost!

Is the Great Lakes Wright Pils on the street? Haven't seen it in the stores as of yet?

My night took a sharp U-turn and after the Noble Pils headed to the bar. Had Reissdorf Kolsch and a Radeberger Pils on tap. I forgot how hoppy a fresh Noble Pils is, was a stark contrast to Radeberger.

Radeberger was relatively new to the city I lived in back in 98-99. A few places had it, as it was from the former East. It had a nice balance, but seemed to be low in the hop flavor and bitterness. It was something I wouldn't avoid if that was what was on tap. It was better than Binding, but not as good as the other Pilsners around the city.

I've had it multiple times, balance is the perfect word for it. While it never impressed me, it's an easy drinking pils that's a nice break from an IPA dominated draft list. Oh, it's also one of the cheaper draft beers around here.

Wright Pils is available year round at select locations. From the Great Lakes web site:

    ABV: 5.3%

    ABW: 4.2%

    IBU: 35”

It will be available in a few months: “Seasonal 2012: June - July (6 pack and draft)”

    Cheers!

Thanks for the update, I don't get to the pub as much as I used to so I am always on the lookout for new 4's & 6's on the store shelves

So what do folks think of Souther Tier's Eurotrash Pilz? I saw it yesterday and was going to grab a 6-pack, but I was more in the mood for something else so I went with that instead. I would definitely like to give it a try before it disappears again, though.

Ok, it was $6/bottle. But it was clear as day, no haze whatsoever. This will pair well with the Bruins game.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I really like Great Divide's Nomad. Check it out if you haven't had it - lots of bready lager tastes.

Pretty middle of the road- I'd put the Sly Fox, Troegs, Victory, Stoudts, Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams all above it. Maybe worth a shot if you were getting a few in a mix-a-six, just out of curiosity, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Here's one for you, Peregrine Pilsner. My favorite & #34 on BA top Pilsner list. Anyone else had this?
