I stopped by the Pine Box this afternoon, and was blown away by the list of beers on tap, not to mention the pricing. My wife and I shared 6 ounce pours of Bourbon County Coffee Stout, Abraxas, Berserker, and DFH Raison d'Extra. The first three, all served together, were a clinic in astonishing barrel aged imperial stouts, and a lot of fun to compare and contrast, not to mention just to drink. We could have had others: also on tap were BCBS, Parabola, Abyss, and Barrel Aged Old Raspy, as well as plenty of other outstanding strong ales (not stouts), like Black Butte XXVII, Angels Share, and some more obscure beers. It's a great taplist, easily as good or better than some of the festivals around. Prices are $6 for 6 ounce pours for most of the beers, some at $5, and only one higher. I passed on Abraxas at Mammoth a couple of week ago because of sticker shock, and I was delighted to get to savor it today. (Actually, until 6 pm, it's happy hour, so we paid just $5 apiece.) They began pouring these beers last night; I'm not sure how long this runs, but you can check their website to see the current taplist. Enjoy!
Just to make one thing clear ... the Abraxas is the regular version, not the barrel aged, as my earlier message implied.
yup. went thursday night with the lady and it was kind of like disney land. i had parabola, abraxas, d'extra, vermillion, coffee bcbs. might go back at some point this weekend for a few others, but love pine box events. usually great prices and very chill atmosphere.
