Which hops would you say has pineapple as the most prominent characteristic?

I've had pineapple appear from combinations of hops, but can't recall one hop that really brought the pineapple.

Otto Supreme, at least that's what it tastes/smells like in my APA.

Good call there. Otto Supreme will be part of my next Yakima order. Thanks!

In previous years, I did get mango and pineapple from Citra, but mango was dominant. The 2014 crop of Citra produced mango and bright orange for me this time with less dank than previous years and no cat piss.

The beer was 100% Citra with 5oz in the kettle and 3oz. for dry hop.

I've never used it, but have had a few beers finished with Galena that had a extra ripe/almost rotten pineapple thing going on. Similar to brett C, but from hops.

It is indeed amazing how inconsistent Citra has been. But it's always "pretty dang good" no matter what IMHO.

I also often get pineapple from Columbus.

I was very pleased with my Citra beer this year.

I get pineapple from Columbus when it's paired with Simcoe and Centennial. That combo is orange, pineapple and pine.

Columbus paired with just Centennial is orange, lemon and pine. Never made a 100% Columbus beer.

Pineapple is a desirable flavor in IPAs. So I ask you, why aren't there any IPAs fermented with brett C? Dry funky pineapple yeast paired with citrus hops sounds like a winner. Maybe there are some brett C IPAs?

This fresh 100% Mosaic beer I've been drinking all day in celebration of Martin Luther King Day, has developed some pineapple notes. It was previously lemon, blueberry dank with a dash of onion. A week after kegging, it's a lemon, pineapple, blueberry kush ale and the onion is almost completely gone. The vague remnants of the onion meld well with the dank. This beer will be onion free by next week.

US-05 above 65 gives me the fusel headaches. 60F is the prime s05 spot for me. Galaxy gives me passionfruit which is similar to pineapple, but not a common flavor in America. I <3 Galaxy.

Where did you get the Citra for 2014?

The Citra i got from yakima in 2012 was poop. Really dank, cat pissy and vegetal, with HUGE mango that overpowered everything.

I got it from Yakima maybe a week after they made pellets recently. It's the best batch of Citra I've ever received. I can't say anything bad about it except for maybe "where is the pineapple and how did that bright orange get in there?"

Might give it a go then. I've been turned off by Citra recently. I think I have pellets left and I've got a pound from last years crop that I haven't tried yet. Might give it a whirl in something to test it.

I've gotten pineapple from comet. Along with really loud melon and a wild note of something in it. Weed mostly.

I had a growler of Henniker Brewing's Hopslinger ipa that was double dry hopped with CTZ and Kohatu. It was amazing! Had very very strong pineapple aroma and flavor. I'm trying to get back asap to before it's all gone!

So you've used the Comet for flavor and aroma? I've only used them in Porters and Stouts for bittering...maybe worth a try

Used them in a DIPA for dryhop only and then used them in an IPA as a sole contributor.

It's weed, soaked in orange juice, melon and pineapple juice.. Theres no other way around it. If you want more danky stanky in your beer, and don't like Apollo, try Comet, and benefit from the tropical melange of wild stank.

Anyone used Topaz late also? (I've got 3/4# of both Comet and Topaz).
