Psyched for this, although 1st day of crowlers and PP Lamar has no IPA's besides Electric Jellyfish on.
I think just Cali Ale; I've used WLP 090 (San Diego Super Yeast) to get some extra attenuation to get that crisp finish.
How is the Electric Jelly? My homie is sending me one as an extra in a trade we have going, and frankly, I know nothing of it.
It was voted best beer in Austin this year. I personally think it's the best ipa in austin and one of the best in Texas. So juicy and so good.
per the bartender, its the same recipe. They would have had to jump through several hoops with TABC so they just renamed it for the north location
Close but not entirely true as it has nothing to do with the TABC but more to do with our supply of a couple key hops in electric jellyfish that force us to limit how much we can brew each year. Zappy Squid is actually the recipe that spawned electric jellyfish from a couple years back, pilot IPA 5 for those who may remember. The malt and hop profile through the base of the beer is very similar but we use a different hop combination in the whirlpool and Dry Hop that is more mosaic dominant as opposed to citra dominant. Both beers are hopped at the same rate and have the same IBU profile. I am glad you all enjoy it, cheers! - Joe
