Pipeworks (2021)

I just searched my inbox. March 6, 2020 was the last email I received as a FWB.

 

During a pandemic do we really trust Pipeworks barrels as the one thing not to be infected?

 

PW brought Phantom Unicorn to the OIP Beer & BBQ Challenge yday and it was pretty solid. BA Imperial Stout with cacao nibs, vanilla, & lactose. I asked about BA Jones Dog and if other BA beers would be returning this fall/winter season and the person pouring said PW will have BA beers again this upcoming season with many of the old brews renamed. Looks like PW back in the BA game.

 

Was hoping they would start going without the lactose but it doesn’t look like it. Great news though!

 

I am guessing that is the reason, didn't want to ask and bring up bad infected beer memories for them. Hopefully they return with some solid BA brews and follow Rev to package them in 12 oz cans.

 

I'd really like for them to return to 12 oz packaging their BA beers as well but seems this one at least will still be 16oz cans.

 

me too! Pipeworks can we stop putting lactose in the barrel aged stouts?

 

Yes! BA End of days is the best Pipeworks barrel aged beer ever.

 

Coming off barrel issues it’s understandable as Lactose helps to prevent infectious hype.

 

Per Instagram or something, they’re also brining BA stuff to great taste…

 

this joke was the perfect type of camp for a late summer night.

 

My recollection from 15 hours ago is a bit foggy but I tried Special Reserve Vintage 2017 at the Taste and want to say I was told it was a cuvee of barleywine and old ale and maybe something else. It was tasty.

Phantom Unicorn definitely scratched the itch for a PW BA stout as well.

 

Yeah, following up here - any good/bad news on a planned or existing Pipeworks taproom?

It will open on the same night as the War Pigs taproom. Tough decisions coming.
