    Hey guys,

I have a friend making a trip out to Chicago this weekend and she promised me she'd beer hunt for me. I've been dying to try pipeworks and revolution. Can anyone recommend a bottle shop or two that would be best for finding a diverse selection of these two breweries beers? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

It would be helpful to know where in the area she will be, will she have access to a car, etc. In general, it should be fairly easy to find offerings from both breweries. If she is near a Binny's she should be good for both breweries. For info, here are the PW retailers.

She'll be staying in a place called Naperville and will have access to a car. And wow that link has a lot of stores haha. Thanks!

There's a Binny's in Naperville. Maybe others more familiar with the area can chime in if there are better stores in the area for PW and Rev. You should have her pick you up the latest batch of Ninja Vs Unicorn (339/340) & Coffee Break Abduction. For Rev, you can't go wrong with Anti-Hero (have her check the dates on the bottom of the cans as freshness can sometimes be hit or miss) & Eugene porter. If she can find Straight Jacket (BA Barleywine) make sure she picks up a bottle. Oh and buy her lunch & dinner when she gets home

If she is in Naperville, she should check out the beer cellar in glen Ellyn. Maybe 15 min away and the best selection of pipeworks anywhere. Also has about all the revolution that's available, plus solemn oath, Une annee, only child, and the other good local stuff.

Your best bet is to have her check out the Binny's in Schaumburg, probably a 35-40 minute drive from Naperville depending on where she is at...PDubs comes in on Tuesdays, so Tuesday or Wednesday is your best bet...if you're not overly concerned about pricing, check out Niche Restaurant in Geneva....extensive bottle list and anything they have on the menu is for sale to take home. Can be taxing on the wallet, however.

Just spent a week and a half in Chicago for work and came home with amazing offerings. From my limited time there, may I recommend......PW Unicorn vs. Ninja, PW Amarillo Ninja, Rev AntiHero (others mentioned all these).

But other readily available ones I recommend....Half Acre Heyoka, Half Acre Shewolf(if available), Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter (it is my understanding that it is being released Wed? Anyone confirm?), Surly Furious, Surly Abrasive (may be more limited), heck I'll throw in Surly Coffee Bender

Confirm, tomorrow (Wed) at noon. Hope to lasts for a bit. Pretty sure last release was around for the following day, but not much more than that. Not 100% sure on that.

EDIT: Just read that last year it actually made distro, which really surprised me. Maybe I'm thinking of Galactic DDC?

Half Acre doesn't make it's way into the suburbs, at least not that I know of. Binnys is her best bet. Malloys on Ogden is good too. I live on the Naperville/Wheaton boarder so send me a message if you need any other help.

Half Acre for the western suburbs basically stops around Carol Stream, and doesn't go any further. Talking with my guy at Binnys in St Charles recently, however, and he says that it may be coming out further west very soon.

Very recommend Half Acre for you to check out. Also, if your friend can find it out that way, have her pick up some Ale Syndicate as well. Some of the newest kids on the block, but I'm predicting good things for them.

As others have said, the Naperville and Plainfield Binny's will probably be the best bet. I live in Naperville in between the two and frequent them both often.

Half Acre has a distribution boundary at North Ave (64). Any place north of 64 gets Half Acre. So, Binnys Bloomingdale will have it. Places south of 64 will not have access to Half Acre.

I shop in Skokie, Niles and Palatine and all three places (different shop names) carry them.

Revolution Anti-Hero is completely overrated - can't hold a candle to Two Hearted, Torpedo, Founders Centennial, Racer 5, ect.
