yeah according to Instagram there’s more fudge and marshmallow. I’ve never had it but was surprised to see they use cinnamon in it. The Beer Cellar Glen Ellyn has single cans available if you’re in the area

My first can last year was a cinnamon bomb. To the point that it nearly burned my throat going down. Still tasted great aside from that, but luckily it was just an odd can. Every other one I had was excellent. More fudge and marshmallow flavor sounds good to me.

Just watched this SNL skit from last night. Lizard King is featured 14 seconds in!

NvU I've seen for 9.99 at several places for a 4 pack.

$9.99 is such a steal. I just got a keg of NvU for $75 from PW. I had a four pack about a month or two ago that was way off but PW track record is so good that I brushed it off. Hoping for the best from the keg!

I’m sure you will not be disappointed. NvU is a staple at my home bar and can’t be beat for $75. The keg I grabbed a week ago is hazier looking than usual and tastes damn good

But think, you could have gotten three 4packs of Equilibrium instead. Or maybe not even 3 depending on which ones you picked, I guess.

Were you able to tell when it was brewed? I’m tempted to pick up a keg, but not if it’s older than the latest 4packs.

I finally had a can last night. I found it to be the same as the initial can batch and just as good. Maybe there was a hint more of a chocolate presence? But that could have been all in my head knowing that they said this batch was fudgier.

Yes, date on the keg is March 6th. I tapped it Friday night and it is tasting fantastic. I just have to figure out a way to keep my buddies away from it so it doesn't disappear in a month like my last Navaja keg.

Thanks for the feedback, that’s helpful. Even without much help my Navaja keg is already gone.

If only we could think of some excuse for people to stay away from each other, something like being distant socially for a long period of time perhaps you could drink it without them putting your healthy Navaja supply at risk.

Funny you mention that, I think that is actually reason why it went so quick, believe it or not. Instead of meeting up at breweries, now we get together for driveway beers. Hence, keg goes buybye faster.

Is Emerald Grouper not hitting stores this time around? It is still only at the dojo about a week after the announcement.

Update. This NvU keg with a date of March 6th is the best version I have ever had. Typically these beers do taste better on draft but this is downright delicious. Almost a tad hazy, full of flavor with a perfect head every pour, super impressed. This will not last long!

Abduction 2017. I think it’s a bit oxidized, but still enjoyable. Whereas the dogs are creamy, full, inviting, and smooth, this is more grainy, gritty, bakers chocolate, subdued bourbon sweetness. Less of a crowd-pleaser, but stimulating and luxurious all the same. Think less cult California cabernet, and more old-world earthy claret.

I remember drinking just about every weird Abduction bomber variant 4 years ago. Simpler days.

Pairs well with Godard’s Breathless, late spring rainstorms, and combing through records to find tracks you haven’t heard in a decade or more.
