I wandered into Gordon's in DTX last night and, lo and behold, they had fresh cans of Ninja vs. Unicorn and Lizard King in the back cooler. Looks like Night Shift's distro has gotten Pipeworks into the state - any other sightings?

Julio's in Westborough had a launch event a few weeks back. CBC Framingham also said they had it about a week ago.

Slowly but surely. Kappy's in Medford had Close Encounter (black IPA) on their shelves yesterday. And I had Crimson Snapper (DIPA) on tap at Mystic Station in Malden this weekend.

Thanks for the tip, just picked up a 4 pack of each. What were your thoughts?

I like both, am a fan of Lizard King as I really like Mosaic. They'll be in the rotation for sure.

Was happy to find Lizard King on the north shore. It was fresh and priced pretty well.

Not an overly exciting beer but will be nice to have once in a while

I believe I paid ~$10.99 for 4-pack of each (Lizard King and Ninja v Unicorn) at Rapid.

Awesome to hear you all are enjoying Pipeworks! Its somewhat limited at the moment but we hope to get more out there as Pipeworks ramps up their production.

Out of curiosity, how much, if any, concern do you have about the prospect of a brand you're distributing into the state (a la Pipeworks) competing with your own brand for shelf space? I'm thrilled at what your distribution arm is doing, I'm just curious from a business perspective about the thought process, especially since it seems that Pipeworks and NS are very similar price points, packaging types and focus on hop-forward ales.

We aren't that concerned. Night Shift Distro is its own business and in the business of selling great beer. If people want more Pipeworks we will do our best to get it out there. We are also confident in the strength of NSB beers and brand. There is still alot of room for NSB to grow. I also believe there is plenty of room to kick out lower quality/slower moving beers before we are really even competing for the same shelf slot. Our sales team treats every brewery we sell as equal. NSB doesn't get preference over the other brands it has an agreement with NSD just like the other brewers do.

first off, thanks NS Distro for saving me postage money by not trading for pipeworks anymore

IMO the beers are pretty different. for example, Whirlpool and Lizard Kizard King are delicious APA's but in so many ways the comparison ends there. I walked out of Julio's with 4 packs of each last week and I don't think that will be the last time I do so.

Anybody seen Pipeworks around lately? I haven't seen it a retail shop in at least a month. I popped into Wollaston Liquors in Quincy, and one of the (newer) employees didn't even know they had carried it.

I need a break from my local regulars and only lizard king will scratch the itch...

Vinnin in Swampscott had a couple of cases last Thursday. May be worth a call.

I had found Lizard King and Close Encounter at Redstone in Stoneham back at the beginning of June. (The Close Encounter was three months old).

This time of year I'm usually driving around to the local breweries with the windows down and sucking at growlers of fresh and tasty NEDIPA so I haven't been looking but, when the weather turns, it'd be nice to have (hopefully reasonably fresh) Pipeworks on the shelves.

Awesome, thanks everybody. I guess it's good to know that it's just my immediate area who is lacking, not all of metro Boston.
