Pipeworks Rave

I thought Something Hoppy was sort of wierd. The combination of hops just didn't do it for me, I was getting strong hints of onion on and off while drinking it, and that really put me off.

CItra Ninja was delicous.

Blood of the Unicorn is a very good too.

 

Every time I've tried to find citra ninja, it flies off the shelf. You'd think it was a whale.

 

Especially if they're FWB only....

I've seen the bottling line. These guys are just some hard working people who love beer, and love Chicago. They deserve all the attention they are getting.

 

From a non-IL resident who gets Pipeworks occasionally, what's the deal with the Ninja and the Unicorn beers? Is it a stylistical difference, or a brewing difference (malt bill, hops used, etc.) or just an arbitrary difference that gives us something to talk about?

 

Different hops used in each, not sure about malt billl, but they are fairly different DIPA's.

 

I DIG PIPEWORKS! I will rant and rave and support this brewery for a long time! Its about time that someone brews way better hoppy beers than 3 Floyds. I get soooo tired of hearing people rant and rave about 3 Floyds and that they brew the best hoppy beers in the Great Lakes beer region. I have drank ninja vs unicorn, blood of the inicorn, unicorns revenge, and citra ninja. They are all amazing beers! I will buy a hoppy pipeworks beer over any hoppy 3 Floyds beer 24/7/365!

I do still need to make mention that I really dig zombie dust. That beer gets an "exception from the rule" in this post.

Also dig the fact that Pipeworks brews great Berlinner Weiss beers! Well red temptress is just so dang good! Flower child is really solid as well.

I totally agree, I think that is the Sorachi Ace hops, they have a very lemony, grassy onion taste to me. I will just stick to the Good stuff NvU, Citra ninja etc! Cant wait to try the other ninja flavors also, Mmmmm Simcoe Ninja and please please make some more RTA I missed on the first batch

 

Gimme a fucking break. FFF destroys everything and anything Pipeworks.

 

What does that even mean? Would you ever say that about someone else? "Well, my mailman, he's just a hardworking guy who loves mail, and loves Chicago." What?

Ninja vs Unicorn was the PW that I tried a while back and it blew me away. Just when I thought it couldn't get better I was able to try RTA. PW has a solid lineup. Glad to have them here!
