I'm heading down to Pisgah to see Moe on the 11th of July. I went ahead and picked up the "Hoppy VIP" pass that includes a brewery tour and tasting. I've never been to this venue before so not sure what to expect tailgate wise. Anyone heading down early and plan to enjoy some nice beverages before hand?
Not sure what you mean by tailgate wise, you meaning like a football game with a grill and ice chest sort of thing? You could stop and pick up a growler of other local favorites at Appalachian Vintners which isn't far off of I-40 (off exit 50 about a mile or so) then hunker down until show time. They open at 2pm so not sure you couldn't go in and enjoy.
Mostly just asking are people going to be hanging out before the show and having a few adult beverages in preparation for the show? A lot of time before Phish shows and such, there’s quite a bit of hanging out prior to the show..sharing a few good brews etc. I just have no idea what the venue is like here or if anyone would even be getting there early to hang out prior to the show.
If the show is actually at Pisgah, there's limited space and I doubt big groups do any tailgating. There's parking in both front and back, but likely not a lot of outside consumption.
People will be hanging out before hand. There is a huge grass lot next to the area where the outdoor stage is. I've been to a few shows there and people have always been hanging in the parking area drinking, selling stuff, etc. The area for the outdoor stage is huge and they have food trucks and Pisgah beer for a good price once in the venue. VIP gets a special area close to the stage and also has beer for purchase in there separate from GA beer sales.
