New craft brewery opening next month in Hudson. http://www.twincities.com/wisconsin/ci_23445199/new-craft-brewery-open-hudson
There are so many beer-y options now in Hudson! Which reminds me: a new beer-centered bar will open soon, "The Stone Tap", in the space that was formerly-known as Dibbo's for so very long. This one was originally thought to be a brewpub, but I have not heard much about that plan recently.
According to the Patch, the pub is scheduled to open soon: http://hudson-wi.patch.com/groups/business-news/p/dibbo-s-building-sold-craft-beer-pub-renovations-underway
Damn, this is in WI, but so far away from me! Interested in the IPA to be named "...heavy dose of Citra Hops..."
Those who frequently shop at a certain premier east metro beer outlet, will recognize one of the owners of "The Stone Tap".
Hud-town related- I stopped by American sky last weekend. Terrible location. Really terrible. But was fairly busy, I suppose a byproduct of social media, word of mouth. Beers were all solid and they would like to move downtown so keep an ear out for that.
As of now, Hudson has an ordinance that states no brewpubs or breweries can be located downtown or in a retail zoned area. Only in an industrial zoned area, or something to that effect. Thats why American Sky couldnt open up downtown or in a better location and also why you havent heard much more about the brewpub part downtown. People are working on getting this changed as you would imagine.
That's a hilarious law particularly for Wisconsin....nothing ceases to amaze me these days but I thought Wisconsin was ahead of the curve in regards to these things....granted I know it is a "city" in Wisconsin but still...come on...
Stone Tap opened yesterday. They have 22 taps and the standouts were Bruery's White Oak, Alpha King, Dragon's Milk, Old Chub, and GF Hop Head Red.
(Self-promo warning...) My "Brewer's Gold Single Hop Lager" was delivered yesterday to the Stone Tap. The BrewFarm will have a rotating tap there - who knows what I'll find rolling around my cold room to put on...
