I wanted to get this post out early enough but I kinda already failed at that. Anyways, a couple of us that get together pretty regularly were talking about forming a Pittsburgh BA fantasy football league. We havent put together a lot of details yet so dont ask a bunch of technical questions yet. Just seeing if there is enough interest to pull this off with local BA's. I believe there are already 5 of us that are in and we are looking for at least another 5 but shouldnt have a problem going to 12 teams. Obviously beer is your entry fee, again it hasnt been discussed about how much. So who wants in?
I will keep you in mind if we dont have enough, but this effort was kind of two fold. Our hidden agenda was to bolster the numbers of our tasting group. Plus we kind of wanted to do the draft in person.
I'm out of capacity for new fantasy leagues, but if you're looking for more for your tasting group I'm interested.
Although I am not particularly interested in the fantasy league, I would be very interested in the tasting group. I am relatively new to the city. Moved from Philadelphia and looking for fellow BAs.
For those that are interested in the tasting group I will be in touch through BM. Cant believe there aren't more BA's who play fantasy football in the Pittsburgh area. Did I start this search too late in the year?
So far those that have an interest in the league are located between south fayette, to baldwin to shadyside and inbetween.
I'd love to participate, but don't think I can commit due to the timing of some upcoming life events. Would love to get info on the tasting group, though.
I guess this is just about dead (unless Sam has been holding out on us)...I really thought a local, beer based FFL would take off...boo!
Not holding out on you just holding out hope. We might be able to chalk this up to bad timing, meaning that we should of gaged interest sooner. We can always try again next year. The funny and ironic thing is that the only other person we attracted was greg. That only put us at 6 people. On the bright side of things we did drum up some pretty good interest in expanding our tasting group so maybe that should be our priority now. Lets try and get a decent tasting put together either at one of our houses, which would be easier, or at a venue somewhere? BM with your thoughts.
Ditto - plus, I'm already in a couple leagues. But I'd happily quit both next year if we can get this going earlier
