Was curious if any Pittsburgher's can help me out. I am originally from the burgh and my family lives back there. I am looking for a birthday gift for my father and wanted to know if anyone knows of any cool beer dinners/events happening in the next few months. Any help would be much appreciated. I know it may be on the calendar on BA but figured may be easier to ask the locals and there may be some not listed as well. Cheers!
There have been some in the past month, but none I am aware of in the near future. I would check back here and Ill keep an ear out for anything happening.
My brother is a chef at corner stone restaurant and just threw a successful beer dinner with Brooklyn beer in November. I believe he is planning another one for February or march.
I went to one a few months back at the Mansions on Fifth (http://www.mansionsonfifth.com/category/news/) that was pretty good. I don't see anything announced, but they said that they planned to do them quarterly or something.
House of 1000 Beers will be having the next Top Shelf Thursday tasting in January, & most likely one in February as well.
