I was browsing through the brewers and beers that will likely be poured at the Pittsburgh Beer Fest... I was surprised that there's only a very small representation of Pittsburgh breweries. A lot of the core breweries are missing; i.e. Brew Gentlemen, Roundabout, Draai Laag, Grist House, Dancing Gnome, and i'm sure a few others i'm missing.

Is this common for the Pittsburgh Beer Fest? Maybe it's good that they are flying under the radar.

Some of the breweries that you have listed get pretty low on beer by Sunday evening at their own brewery. They probably just don't have enough beer on hand to bring to a beer fest of that size. Keep in mind, 3 sessions, with thousands of people in attendance = a lot of beer !!

I haven't gone to a winter of summer beerfest, but I kind of view them as Pittsburgh Wholesalers way of unloading old kegs of craft beer.

Good point. I didn't look at the duration of the event. I guess i just assumed it was a one day thing. 3 sessions is a lot. I have a coworker who is attending and i wanted to tell him to just go to a couple of the breweries i mentioned instead

Most of those breweries you mentioned go to the smaller local festivals like Beers of the Burgh.
