Has anyone had Voodoo's new sour 'One' ? What did you think? I'm hoping to try it before they run out but not sure that will happen.

Was able to pick up some on Friday. Really enjoyed it - the sweet notes of the syrup really came through. Comparable to CBS really.

It was (is?) a 100% Brett fermentation so it wasn't really at all sour. It was kinda just a funky version of some of their Southern hemisphere IPA's. Think blossoming down under but with Brett character. A nice refreshing beer but not really super complex. I do think it's a solid start and shows they know what they're doing with some bugs.

What’s the line at Homesteads going to be like Saturday? Didn’t get an allotment so would like to try them all on draft.

Somewhere between terrible and extremely terrible. I don't know where you live, but consider jaunting up to Grove City or Meadville instead.

Dang that’s what I was worried about. Homestead is so much more convenient for me unfortunately (fortunately) so I think I’ll stick it out. Will anyone else be there? Looks like I’m rolling solo.

I didn't notice what was being released I don't think; unless you mean the preorder bottles they have for pickup + the tap releases?

They have a coffee bean collaboration (not beer, obviously) that I'm strangely intrigued by, but I'll most likely be at Hitchhiker later today for the Agrio cans/tap re-release. We didn't get any cans last time and need to remedy that.

Yes I’m referring to the BRC beers they have on tap today.

The line in Homestead wasn't bad at all this time. I got there a few minutes before opening at 11am (more for my allotment pick up but hoping for a chance at a draft or two) and was able to get all of the drafts. The BM kicked probably 20 minutes after me, so really during people getting back in line for round 2. Maybe an aberration, although maybe it was due to having a second BRC release this year.

Just an FYI for anyone willing to make the drive up to Meadville in the future: there's pretty much always BRC draft left over on Sundays after releases. They were out of BM on Sunday but had both K13's still.

Everyone must have went to Grove City. I was there at open, took an hour to process the line and all drafts were kicked by 12:30ish. I got to drink all 3 drafts so no complaints... but people must have went to GC to avoid the CF at the others. I was one of them!

Speaking of BRC release... am I the only one that thinks these guys should have atleast 20 of each beer pre-poured for open to avoid the amount of time it takes to process the line? Almost every beer they serve at BRC is better warmed up. Maybe this is a location by location problem, but man, it took forever at Grove City on Saturday.

FWIW I've honestly never gone to a Saturday release party in Meadville. Last one I was out of town and I also work a lot of Saturday mornings. The last couple I've been around for though I've just gone in first thing Sunday morning and they still have a fair amount left. Some of the less popular ones (Quadfather) will even make it partway through the next week sometimes.

Yeah I think it’s died down a bit in Meadville since all the other pubs opened up. I havnt been there for a BRC release since the MBP release.

Anyone ever go to a ShuBrew Friday can release? I was thinking about having my old man (who lives up that way) pick me up some "Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start" this Fri but wasn't sure if he needs to be there at/before 4pm, if there's a crazy line, and what to expect in general.

Thinking about hitting the Orbital Convoy release this Saturday at DG. What should I expect? Will there be a big line? How long does it typically take to get through?

    Thanks in advance.

Do yourself a favor and get there at open, grab a seat at the bar or a table, have a few pints, and wait for the line to get to the garage. Since they have upped production, the cans have been lasting a couple hours on Saturday releases. You’re better off grabbing a seat inside vs waiting in line. Just my opinion. Good luck!

Great stuff, thank you. I hate waiting in line much more than the next guy, so I particularly like this plan, and it is my normal tactic anyway - just wanted to make sure we wouldn't get shut out.

Yeah man, you’ll be fine. Just make sure you’re there at 12 sharp. Place gets crazy inside on can release days for the first couple hours. Either way, cans should last a couple hours min...

Debating making a trip to Pitt from Rochester before the end of the summer. What are the must do breweries and beer bars? Any food recommendations? If we're going to get an Airbnb for a few nights what neighborhood offers the best in terms of walkability to beer and food destinations? Thanks!
