I'll try and address what i can about Margot.

The brewery opens at 6PM. The release starts at 6:30PM. We have no idea what to expect in terms of a crowd, but we anticipate it will be well recieved popular.

500 bottles- 3 a person... so I would suggest arriving a little early to be safe. I doubt you'd have to camp out...but stranger things have happened.

Also, this batch is different than the pilot. It is cleaner (nice appearance,) more tart, great carbonation...personally I think it has some great citrus elements happening that weren't fully defined in the pilot. In short, this is a DAMN solid beer.

It will be featured at House of a Thousand Beers Sour and the Funk... also, it just might pop up on tap at a few hot spots during PCBW  So keep on the look out!

I believe there will be samples and growler fills of Margot the night of the release.

I'm going to stop by Caliente when I leave the office in 15 minutes... I'll be the guy in a 'Knights' baseball jeresy-aka Roy Hobbs from the Natural. If you see me, say hello

At caliente now drinking a Margot. Very good sour. Reminds me a lot of Russian River's Temtpation. If you see an Asian dude in a black shirt and hat, say hi.

Very packed by the way but I think it's more because of the Pens game than the KBS tapping.

@OneDropSoup and Ho1kB put on a killer Sour & Funky tasting yesterday. The event was extremely organized, pours were generous and I never had to wait more than 30 seconds to sample anything.

So which of the PCBW collaboration beers is your favorite so far?

My favorite: Dark Angel (dunkelweizen) from All Saints/Helltown. Really smooth and clean with great wheat and dark malt character. Lots of flavor for 4.1% ABV.

Also liked the Rojo Ahumado (smoked red with chilies) from East End/Lavery. The smoke wasn't too strong and I mostly got a fruity chili flavor rather than heat from it.

The No. 8 Wire IPA from Roundabout/Rivertowne was a little too piney/harsh for my east-coast IPA tastes. I was hoping for more citrus from the New Zealand hops.

I had the Hop Confession from Church Brew Works and Caliente. It was surprisingly good. Nice musky hop flavor.

The Lavery/Full Pint Burton Upon Brett (Bretted IPA) is pretty good too. Nice hop flavor and slight tartness at the end.

You got to love when you go to an event for a specific beer and then you are told said beer is not there. I looking at you Hough's and Great Lakes BB Blackout Stout.

Hit the Shaler GE to see what Deschutes tap takeover beers they were having and was able to pick up a bottle of Bells Black Note Stout, which was a pleasant surprise. It was a 1 bottle limit.

I was there about 1 and there were 8-10 bottles left but the word was out. I would have been surprised if there were any left by 4.

With their stellar reputation/track history for serving variants, I sure hope they don't also have regular Jai Alai on tap.

The Real Ale Fest was just cancelled. Looks like they couldn't even sell half the tickets. The price was high to start and those damn Ticketmaster fees didn't help. Hopefully when they reschedule in the fall it will be at a different venue with more room.
