I was just messing with you since I couldn't really think of anyplace and remembered you live down here as well.

No worries. It might be nice meeting more of you. Had been going to Southside for bottle share on Saturdays, but anymore the drive there-and-back eats up too much of a Saturday and the drive just pisses the kids off. Something local could be nice.

We would be more than happy to host a bottle share. I recently spoke with the owner about this. How do yinz feel about doing this at 7PM on a Sunday night after we are closed to the public? I have a whole walk in cooler of bottles to share, nothing fancy but I'd love to share them.

Wouldn't say no. Although 7pm on a Sunday could lead to a massive hangover at work on Monday.

Had quite a few Momo's at BG Saturday night and had a little impromptu bottle share. I thought Momo was absolutely delicious. Also, it was great meeting Greg and Andy.

Haven't been to the store in a while, was just checking out their site and it says they have some.

Glad to see they have Pumking already... I hope they didn't buy it all like they did last year.

I would not be surprised at all if it was last year's. Remember the price breaks they had on bottles? And I know there's plenty of stores around town that have stockpiles from last year ie Pitts Dogg'n It

There is a massive in-aisle bulkstack of cases of pumpkin shit at GE Shadyside. It's so big that it actually interferes with shopping in that area. There are few things I dislike more than pumpkin beers but one of them is the hysteria that surrounds them.

I like a few of them, but August is just early. I enjoyed the rum barrel Pumking quite a bit, though. It's one of the few rum barrel aged beers that I've had that I thought worked.

It's crazy that you start seeing pumpkin beers in the middle of summer, and by the time Fall / Halloween does finally roll around, Christmas beers will be everywhere. I know that this type of early seasonal marketing isn't limited to beer, but it just doesn't feel right when you're picking up some beers to bring to a summer pool party and you see the shelves stacked with Pumking and the like.

Ive come to understand that as a non-acquired taste in the craft world that people not so familiar with craft can just lap up. VS. IPAs which can be too bitter for people, or anything imperial that can be too boozy.

I'll go against the grain here and say that I still like pumpkin beers AND I like them being on shelves this early. Not like they go bad quickly or anything. I like to pick some up for the inevitable late summer eve that dips into fall temp territory. Nothing like a pumpkin beer with the tinge of fall in the air.

I think I'm the only person on BA who doesn't get bothered by this phenomenon though.
