Pittsburgh - New Beers & Local Breweries

Cleaning up at my hotel after an out of town group that stayed with us for a week I threw away bottles of stuff from Pizza Boy, Hill Farmstead, etc. Least the bastards could have done was left a man some treasure behind...

I'm with @kbuzz I think the label is pretty amateur hour. It reminds me of a rough sketch of a Clown Shoes label and I almost always hate their labels too.

 

First it was how the beer looks. Now we've devolved into how the label looks. What's next? Someone doesn't like the shape of the bottle? Does anyone actually give a shit?

 

Fair enough, but I can hate the label and still buy the beer, right? Cause I do that all the time.

 

In the world of woeful label art, this barely breaks the surface. I could point to other local beers that have worse art....but I won't.

 

If Fat Heads changed their Head Hunter label art to this, I would still love the shit out of it.

 

Don't mind if I do. Next to Head Hunter it's one of the few beers that is almost always in my fridge.

 

Cue the Bourbon County 2015 debate...

Seriously though, sometimes I see labels that I think are ugly as shit, but it never stops me from buying a beer if I want to try it.

 

I really do hate those fucking bottles...

 

Part of my job is developing merchandising with our graphic designer. So I am very picky about shit like that. It doesn't ever really bother me but I'll pick up something and shudder from time to time. Nothing will ever be worse than Two Hearted though.

 

Agree 100%, but my opinion would also to extend to what's IN the bottle... Much to the chagrin of @kbuzz

 

I'm not a label snob but that jungle boot doesn't even look like they're even trying. You'd think for $15 a bottle they could put in a little more effort.

 

Shubrew and underwhelming in the same sentence? Not a surprise there. Though their food is decent...


Went to Voodoo Homestead last night and they still had PB #BoC. I was surprised that it didn't sell out super quick.
