That's what happened at GE Sewickley. The guy has the personality of a spoon and seems to have a deep love of malternatives.

The selection at Shaler now makes me sad. I still go through the department every time I stop in the store, but I've probably not bought anything in 3-4 months.

I was just in Chicago and $8 was the price there. Big bottles were $25 though?? Either way its a very good beer.

my dearest and I split the 22oz'er tonight and both loved it. I really like sours in general, but don't typically come across many berliner weisse that I fancy- this wasn't the case tonight. I'll most likely go back this week to stash a few bottles.

Well this happened to me: [IMG]

Also, has anyone seen Pumpkin Down at any place in the North Hills yet? I guess I'll go to Shadyside GE for it if I have to but, y'know, convenience.

Haven't been there is so long it hurts. But, actually, I prefer Lizardville up in Cleveland if I'm going to Ohio for brews. They seemed to be more reliable for the occasional "exotic" (I guess) stuff on top of having what VE has regularly. I'm hoping to get back there in October when I probably go up to see Motion City Soundtrack up there.

Nope, wasn't aware of Beer Camp traveling to Deep Creek (going to have to take this up with management). Was this in Fat Heads? Beer Camp often has a smaller, less formal Sunday gathering, but it's usually only a combo of Mark or Garrett plus a few stragglers.

Anyone know details about/if the CBS/KBS breakfast is happening at Fathead's this year? I know its usually the day after The Big Pour, but I haven't heard anything about that either.

That was not me either Cat-Licks. I was not in any shape to drink on Sunday, haha.

I do not, but if you hear anything let me know. I would definitely be interested in this.

I tired to make it up to Vintage Estate last week but the T only took me to downtown. Damn public transportation around here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Chalk me up as another BA'er who is a big fan of Vintage Estate. I love the layout of the place, and as others have mentioned, the prices for single bottles there are so low.

I remember making a trek out there when I first got into craft beer, and they had Zombie Dust on tap. Also remember them having bottles of Behemoth and thinking that $18 for a bomber was the most expensive thing I've ever seen. Oh how times have changed.

Love the food at Vintage Estate and it's always a cool trip, but I've never found their selection to be quite as mind blowing as some others here see to think it is. That's no knock though, I really like the place.

While I don't believe they've solidified a lineup yet (in addition to the CBS/KBS and waffles, usually there's sidecars like Wake-n-Bake, etc.), Fat Heads anniversary brunch will again fall the day after the Big Pour--so, Sunday, September 13th.

Thanks. I've heard a lot of good things about this event from people.

Try Chalet Premier next time you are up that way. While they do not have quite as large of a selection, they price at state minimum, and the employees are great.

    Chalet Premier is definitely backed.

I've been going to VE for years now and I swear every time I go, the place is setup differently. It's still great, but I do miss the days when there was plenty of Fantome and other harder to get beers to go around.

I've had one bad experience at VE out of 10 or so trips. I'll stop when I'm in that area but I don't think it's worth an hour drive.
