Also sounds like Logsdon brewing will begin distribution in Ohio as well.

Makes, sense. I had it after a Hop Fro, so the bitterness from the ALS was nice.

I enjoyed it. Very vanilla laced cream ale, really refreshing for the summer. I was surprised that it was only $5.50 on draft and $4.50 for happy hour! Ended up having another after a glass of the Apollo Crooked Tree.

Offer still stands whenever yinz want to do it we'll make it happen.

La Pienture bottle release today @ Draai Laag Brewing Co. Opens at 5:00. They are in 12 oz. format and limiting each customer to a 4-pack. The beer hasn't been available in a while, so it will be a new burgh beer for many.

Thoughts on previous batches? May try to swing by there before the Pirates game tonight.

Honestly I haven't had much La Pienture myself. I know what I've had, its been mostly ontap has always been very good. Whenever fruit is involved with Brett or other wild yeasts, it will go through phases. Storage is a key factor too. Head brewer Tony says the bottles of this batch are currently tasting something along the lines of bomb diggity. Should be fruity and sour, I am hoping some sticks around for Friday when I stop in.

Mind you I don't know the quantity available, but does this stuff go that fast? I was thinking about maybe swinging by Saturday afternoon to grab some, and was assuming that it would still be available.

Not very much. 5 cases or so, it was a small batch the rest will be draft, primarily at the brewpub. It will be gone fast, but I would imagine draft will outlast the bottles through the weekend at least....no guarantees there though.

edit: I would expect the bottles to sell out very quickly.

Probably planning on stopping by Meadville Voodoo this evening if anyone's going to be around.

Regarding Voodoo, I'm not too familiar with the BBVD availability, but is this still around anywhere? I know that Voodoo Homestead posted they had some vintages, but I figure they will all be gone by the weekend and the year really doesn't matter to me.

It's a winter seasonal. When it hits locally, it's around for a few weeks and then gone for the year.

I must have mis-remembered seeing this at Giant Eagle, as I could have sworn this was on shelves pretty frequently. Maybe I got this mixed up with something else. Thanks.

I know I saw a case of it sitting at Buddy's Brews on Carson (I think that's the one). Depends on if you want a whole case or not haha. Somewhere around $90. I would throw in for a couple bottles if it's an option.

Thanks for the heads up, but I was just seeing if it was a semi-regular staple and sitting around at bottle shops / Giant Eagle. Was looking to include one as an extra, but I'll find something else when I'm out this weekend to throw in.

Depends where you go. It used to sit on the shelf at GE Moon all year round (collecting dust... I guess RMU students only bought 40's). But they didn't get in any this year, and neither did most Giant Eagles that I shop at in the north hills. I got a few bottles at whole foods this year, but they didn't last more than maybe 2 months.
