It's not about the presence of beer, it's about the environment around the beer. There's a huge difference between a place like BG where people are just casually having a beer and a dive joint where there's a 50/50 shot that there will be a fist fight before the end of the night.

Anyone know if Fatheads will fill a single 32oz round? Or 64 only?

    Thanks.

I see other people are starting to adopt my philosophy on this matter. :grinning:

Rivertowne email details two brews now on at the pourhouse:

    CASCADIAN DEVIL (5.0%) – Nitro

An American version of a ESB, golden in color with an abundance of Cascade hop bite, flavor and aroma. Serving it on nitrogen only intensifies the experience. So grab a pint and get naughty!

    HEADLESS WYLIE (8.0%)High Gravity

If Mr. Crane had this magical brew with him, Sleepy Hollow would have never been the same! This Full-bodied HIGH GRAVITY spiced ale is perfect to calm a scary situation!

I don't know, takes awhile to get a beer anyway. Will be great when the bar isn't too busy.

At the risk of being labeled butthurt, I'm genuinely confused by your reasoning as well. A lot of the people I see patronizing restaurant-bars and breweries are in their 20s and 30s, and, while they enjoy good beer, many of them are parents to young children. More often than not, if my good time is ruined, it's due to an adult, not a sober child.

Agree with @Preluderl that the environment matters, as well as the clock. My kids aren't breathing in menthol-filtered air at Jacks or out after 7-8PM, but if I go to Fat Heads or BG, etc. brunch through early dinner, I don't see the inherent harm.

According to a news report, breathing room air in Jacks for two hours is the equivalent of smoking four cigarettes. Met my wife there; surprised she could see me through the fog.

    Exactly.

My wife is totally soured on DL because we weren't allowed to have our three month old (he was asleep) in there in his car seat at like 4pm. The very moment we walked in the door we were informed that he couldn't be there and we had to go. I chose to buy a bottle to-go and for good measure they gave me the wrong damn bottle and I didn't notice until I got home.

But I digress. I'm not butt hurt over it like she is, but they'd get a ton more business from us if they allowed kids in there during the day. BG and Voodoo both do it with no issue what so ever and like I said before, I find myself driving WAY further in order to give those places my business. I live in Alison Park and DL is literally 10 minutes from my door, but we end up driving the 35+ minutes out to Braddock so our infant can quietly sit in his stroller while we have a beer.

As much time wasted as dudebro ordering a Coors Light, trying a White Lightning, trying an Elliot Ness, trying "the strongest beer you have", then ordering a Bumbleberry "for his girlfriend".

Funny...that day I was waiting for your slow ass to get to DL for one of our trades, there was a couple that pulled up with a sleeping infant in a car seat...they walked in and right back out, confirming to me on their way back to their car that no children were allowed. They shrugged it off, but I was pretty annoyed on their behalf. I'm pretty much required to bring at least one kid with me at all times if I want to do anything anymore, so if I can't bring the kiddo(s) along, the probability of my patronage is significantly decreased.

I feel like it's an antiquated mindset and somewhat hinders (in a very very minor way) the progress of the craft beer scene as a representative of beer culture as a whole...
