Just happy you didn't compare hefes to mentally handicapped persons.

If you aren't brewing Cascadian Dark Berliners, Session Wild Eisbock's or Imperial Hefe's Aged n Tequila Barrels you aren't even trying anything new.

Agree with this. Had Bigger Hop yesterday--first time in a while, and I remember being more impressed last go around. Happy to see that they are canning, and I'll pick up some eventually, but being so close (and having the opportunity to get it so fresh), I wish they had a better IPA offering.

Green Giant is one of the best IPA's to come out of 412.

ugh...grammar now? What other non-beer related nonsense do I have to worry about popping up in this thread next? Geography? Politics?

Far from mine...and knowing that's your measuring stick, probably not worth it to continue down this conversational path. Genuinely don't mean that to come out with any sort of tone inferred. Just don't think we're looking for the same things in a brewery.

EDIT: I do also enjoy Snow Melt, however...

I saw that this was on tap at Caliente's Bloomfield location and would love to try this, but I hate going there when it's not happy hour.

Hmmm...yeah, knowing you don't know the difference between "inferred" & "implied", I'm inclined to agree.

EDIT: And it's not that I think Lagunitas is the standard by which all breweries should be judged, just that I don't mind the "theme-&-variation" approach to a brewery's aesthetic.

On my list, but haven't had this one yet. Is it a one-off (looks to be retired on BA already, though it was checked into this past Saturday)? If it was only brewed once though, feel that calling it one of the best IPAs in Pittsburgh may be a bit premature.

    ugh, more grammar...

EDIT: thinking maybe I screwed up the context and/or sentence construction around the word...cause that's definitely the one I meant to use...what if I had said...

"Genuinely don't mean for that to come out with any sort of tone inferred on your part..." cause that's what I meant...

I agree. I love the main tap list of regularly available beers and then the seasonal / limited offerings that change.

Any other Pittsburgh places have a core line up then change the rest? DL? Don't they always have like 2-3 of the same beers always on then randoms? Or no? Does BG have any "core" beers or are they always just doing one offs?

Honestly, I don't think people are picky, I think I for one, am bored with a lot of the local offerings. Thus I go to Voodoo a lot because they brew consistent beers and have different/random tappings that keeps it interesting.

IBUsive and Pumkin Down were both checked in at D's in the last day. I really wish they weren't so against posting their taplist online.

Ugh, now that means I have to go to D's and spend $30 on a growler of IBUsive.

There's some Fat Heads beer on tap at the Walnut Grill nexto GEMD Waterworks called "Hop Fro". It's pretty tasty.

Our two core year-round beers are White Sky and General Braddock's IPA. Business Casual, Build & Destroy, and Table Beer are available semi-regularly throughout the year, plus one or two seasonals per quarter. The rest are one-offs (some of which end up getting brewed again, such as CPA).

You live out that way? If so, you need to be our source for Waterworks MD taplist updates
