Pittsburgh - New Beers & Local Breweries

Just caught Seven Psychopaths on Netflix/Amazon; it was fair. Farrell plays an alcoholic, but they don't pimp beer brands, as does Drinking Buddies (which was a great movie).

 

Same here, dude. That's why I will always opt for an aisle seat over a closer row when buying tickets for a sporting event. Unfortunately, the aisle seats in a movie theater are God damn awful.

 

Yeah, I feel ya. You don't want to be the guy who is always getting up and getting everyone's way.

 

After that last page, I kind of miss Shuggy and everyone arguing.

 

E1 was a decent start but SLOWWWWW af. Lot of introducing of the characters and giving them some background/depth. Finally picks up a tiny bit at the end. Fantastic cinematography like we expected from S1 and the same brooding score. It's promising but tough to live up to S1.

 

Pretty sure ALL theaters are byob. problem solved. Also, did shuggy get banned?

 

That is honestly what I expect from a great series. If you don't start slow with details about the current situation and new characters, then it only sets up for disappointing plot lines and run-on scenes later in the show. I though Farrell was great and hope to see him in the "rock bottom" mentality throughout season 2. Plus, Rachel McAdams is definitely for me. What a classy broad.

 

To get things back to beer... Here's a new article on the Pittsburgh craft beer scene from Pittsburgh Magazine. It's a pretty nice piece with nice photography to match.

 

The theater in Meadville has a bar with liquor beer and wine, but I think the best option is maybe Guinness? Except you can't take beer into PG movies, so mostly no beer for me when I go

 

I hope he wasn't banned. Sure, he had strong opinions, but seemed like those opinions were well informed.

Pretty sure Shuggy wasn't banned, he's just not been ITT yet. It's not unusual for him to disappear for a few days only to pop back up a little later.

 

I was hooked 5 min into season 1 not so much season 2 it will get better but won't be as good as season 1 don't think any of the characters r interesting except Vince Vaughn charcter

 

Assuming it's a self-imposed Silent Bob thing, so when he returns from the dead after three days in the cave, it will demand innate and dramatic flair.

 

He never posted all that much to begin with. He's out there.

 

Wait, wait, wait...Overgrowth was last for all of them?! WTF? I loved that one.

 

On the topic of beer - has anyone tried Lagunitas Citrusinensis yet? I don't normally go for citrus in beer, but was pleasantly surprised by grapefruit Sculpin so thinking to give it go.

 

Well now I'm really looking forward to his return!

 

Saw some pop up on Twitter, only to be snagged pretty quickly. I've extended a BOLO (be on the look out) to a pair of traveling friends, as I am eager to get my hands on some too. Did Ho1kB post something about having it?

 

I've seen it posted by HO1kB and Shadyside GE, but don't know if either has any left.
