I'll contact Caliente's public relations person to give you guys a class on social media. It will be an hour class, but Caliente will only talk for 40 minutes.

Thinking of hitting up Voodoo and/or BG on Friday; not a deciding factor, but was curious if either had any type of happy hour special.

Those cases were still there when I left 30 minutes later.

Did your wexfordian friend break in after we closed by chance? We close at 10. Though he was definitely right that there were still some left.

 

They got it now because of some woody event ... whatever that means. I'm fairly certain that we will see more around soon.

Haha, I just liked picturing somebody breaking in after hours just to get their allotment of a beer. But yes, you should be ashamed of yourself.

what was the name of the brewery opened up in the north side on or near East Ohio St? And what was the consensus about their beer?

I should add to that

I went to their free soft open a few weeks back. Their IPAs were a little on the malty side with minimal hop presence or pop. They had a hoppy sour that was neither hoppy nor tart (hop tart was the name). They also had a vanilla stout that I tried that was a little over bitter, lacking on the vanilla, and thin. I didn't think any beers were flat out poorly made but they were generally bland and uninteresting. @troygreer was there and we agreed. I am sure others can chime in. They need some work to fine tune. Not writing them off as they are brand new but they need some work as it stands.

 

On the topic of new breweries: Helicon Brewing is supposed to open in Oakdale soon--think the website said "October" last week, with regard to opening date, but now reads "coming this fall." Appears that TRASH is having their November meeting there and that the brewer is a member (Chris Brunetti); anyone had these beers (homebrew or during build up to the new brewery)?

 

No happy hour that I know of. Typically why I hit Fat Head's first on friday for their half price beer.
