The GI distributor in Pittsburgh must be on the shit list with them. Looking through the release thread, people were seeing at their local gas station etc. Either that or they held a ton back because they are ass holes

Just seems like they don't have any presence here. I wish I was in Houston at my in laws this year. Almost every grocery store had a 6 bottle to 1 case limit on regular

A guy I know with in-laws in Houston said that the limits down there were six bottles to a case, depending on the store for BCBS and BCBBW. The way it's not reasonably spread around is ridiculous.

Yeah, I had to stop looking at the "post pic of your last haul" thread. I see people with 20 regulars and I'm like wtf how is this possible. I called around to multiple distributors and they all told me same thing. Cases went to bars and bottle shops strictly. Does anyone even know or heard of anyone in the Pittsburgh area who could buy a case of BCBS at once?

I think a big reason is no one ever drinks their other stuff here. How often do you ever see anyone drinking the regular goose island beers around here. They aren't even on tap that often really.

This is exactly right. My guess is the state laws are what really screw us over. Goose (along with every other brewery) send out their limited release stuff based on sales of their core brands and seasonals. They don't send more here because of case sales and few bottle shops/off premise accounts means not much overall presence.

Well shit. That sucks. I'm reading about a guy from a small town in Delaware saying between 2 beer distributors they had approx 200 cases. I do a beermenu of that zip code and so many bars have goose island on tap, at gas stations, bottles shop, etc. Do that to our area and it's a much lower number of establishments.

With all the excellence flowing from the taps of the local breweries who needs Goose?

Over/under New Years on when all the bitching and moaning about Bourbon County stops.

Was down in NoVa/DC for the holiday and came home with 8 bottles and a half-growler (no joke) of classic just from dropping the girls off at the mall and hitting all the Total Wine's and Whole Foods' in a 5 mile radius at 2pm on Black Friday.

Things I've french pressed the remaining 20oz of the growler through tonight (in order of success):
    Another shot of bourbon
A very thin slice of pecan pie
2 Bada Bing cherries soaked in Eagle Rare
    2 week old press coffee
    Oak chips soaked in tequila

So Pittsburgh as a whole drinks so little 312, IPA, and Honkers compared to everywhere else in the country that we get fucked as a result? Ya not buying that for a second.

Cool cause I'm not selling it. It's the truth.

Read the Philly thread, just as hard to get there. It's the commonwealth's law. My buddy drove to New York and there were cases stacked to the ceiling. The only difference besides the 1h 40m car ride is the state liquor laws.

Went there last night. While that area needs a restaurant like this, the opening weekend response seemed mild at best--maybe those Black Friday shoppers aren't the caliber that appreciate levels above Applebees and Texas Fightin' & Steaks type establishments. My medium rare burger did present all brown, but with the kids running around, I washed it down with a few beers--one of them a house that we were told Founders brews for them (IPH, as well as a Copper).

They are both brewed by Full Pint - I hope you weren't deceived intentionally.

I thought it was full punt that brewed those. Seemed to me the wait staff were all up on the craft beer scene. My waitress had to come back and verify my beer order. So I'd guess they just miss spoke.

@randylangford has said before that this is the case too I believe. Don't want to put words in his mouth though so he can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah we had a very similar discussion around KBS time and Randy mentioned people who always buy All Day are the reason we see KBS.

Same with BCBS. If you bring a sixer of 312 to a friend's BBQ or Honkers over to your family's house that doesn't care about craft beer and maybe they like it, and then maybe they buy some next time they're in a store, and then magically next year we'll have more specialties.

But not to mention this is the first year I remember getting a variants aside from coffee and Barleywine, so we're making steps. But only because our core brand numbers are up.

@wyckyd_sceptre Any clue when the south hills Whole Foods is slated to open and have you already put in for the beer lead? :grinning:
