I really liked that beer. But I still struggle shelling out that kind of cash for a single bomber.
Not that I could get it cheaper anywhere. Just inner-selftruggles.

 

two no name posters outta the cut talking up buddy's. brow is currently furrowed with suspicion.

 

@brother_rebus I felt the same way about the $21 price point but I said fugg it. took it to the register and they rang me in for a Victory 750 for $6.48. I told them no bag, grabbed it outta their hands, and fled to the produce section ASAP.

Like you - I saw, pondered it, and went on my way. $21 a little too steep. But while saying that, I picked up a Green Flash Cellar 3 Series Silva for the same price weeks back only to find out it's likely bad batch.

 

I buy cases frequently and when on Southside I often check out the place on 10th (Black and Gold?)--they have less of a selection, but they are very favorably priced. Think I grabbed Nugget Nectar there last year for like $33/34 (before tax).

 

I don't know how...but I forgot about all of that...

 

I was pissed you guys didn't invite me to the share so I just pounded an 8-ball and leered.

 

I've met clerkpalmer irl. Do IP trades with him frequently. Great guy and not affiliated with Buddys (well, to my knowledge anyway).

 

Even if both of those dudes are Jake's employees...not like they're lying. It's a great store.

 

My traffic pattern to Fat Heads takes me right by the Black and Gold, will have to stop by. Typically hit up Banksville; seem to have the best selection in the south hills that I've found so far.

 

i usually hit up beer express in Crafton when looking for a case, has the best selection on my side of the city and on the way home from work. He's even special ordered me a few cases of bells planet series beers.

 

That's my route to FH too.

Since my kids switched daycare, Banksville is no longer on my route and, as a sane person, I won't submit to traveling it during what would most definitely be rush hour. Because of my current pattern, I'm hitting up either Duffy's on Curry Hollow or Corners on 19, unless I have to specialty order something.

 

Yea this beer is cursed. I got a pour at GEMDH2OWRX. I was given a pint of it instead of the 10oz they were suppposed to give me. And charged me regular for the 10oz.

 

It was delicious on draft. @HunterPGH was kind enough to share his growler fill with me.

 

Buddy's Brews seems to be the only case shop that's gotten in on the gray market game. From what I understand, they are legally allowed to trade merchandise $-for-$ with other case shops in the state. Not sure what this does to the prices of said out-of-distro merchandise, as I've never been there.

 

Heard this before, but don't fully understand the mechanics. Or what "grey" beers we've benefitted from here, as I don't frequent there myself. In favor of addressing gaps in distro though.

 

They get Cigar City stuff (Jai Alai)....and get/have gotten Alesmith stuff before it was officially in the area. There are others that are escaping me too...

 

It is based upon specific customer request? Or do they just get what they get?
