Anyone still see Bells 30th around; realize this dropped back in October. Untappd has Beermuda marked as "recent" for activity, and I think there were one or to others. Looking to expand a trade.

Gotcha. Cue the "don't get me started" about craft breweries "resurrecting" arcane, defunct styles.

You also asked that at Rock Bottom where they had The Gentleman IPA on tap. The waitress wasn't confused at all...

And they ran out of stuffed pablanos. Pricks.

It's not unheard of. Cuvee de Tomme, Boulevard's Love Child Series. Typically something dark.

Draai Laag just announced that they'll be releasing The Relic, fermented with critters harvested from a 17th century monastic cabinet. I shit you not.

    Just came to post this.

    Draai Laag Brewing Company
    15 mins ·

This Thursday we will be INTRODUCING THE RELIC...

The newest, and oldest, beer to join the Draai Laag arsenal.

The Relic is a true miracle beer, fermented on the hard-won yeast of centuries past and subtly hopped to preserve the earthy, musty, citrusy tastes of a strain over 300 years in the making. But we’ll start the story with a conversation earlier this year.

About 8 months ago, a friend of ours asked us to take an old cabinet off his hands, “It looks pretty old and weighs about 1,000 pounds… you want it?” Of course we did. We LOVE old stuff at Draai Laag and this cabinet was rumored to have come from a monastery in France.

One painful move and 3 appraisals later, we verified this cabinet’s French Monastic origins, got an estimate of its construction date - sometime in the mid 17th century – and the growing knowledge that it had been well-preserved, judging by the layers of carefully applied wax.

To some that might raise the question of a profitable sale, to us it set off a light bulb…. There could be critters trapped in there!

Indeed, dear drinkers, there was yeast in there. And Dennis and Tony will be happy to tell you ALL ABOUT the meticulous extraction process, the development of the perfect recipe, designed to let the flavors of this truly ancient yeast shine. Catch either of them in the tap room with a Relic in his hand and you’ll learn more than you ever wanted to know about micro-organism archeology, but for now, enough of the science. Onto the suds.

    6.3% ABV
    Original Gravity: 13.3 P
    1.054 S.G.
    Apparent Degree Attenuation: 88%
    Made with: Relic Strain

Available on draft at the taproom starting this Thursday... Bottles coming soon!

Haha, how did I miss this? Would've just repeatedly poured you a hoodoo with varying amounts of orange juice mixed in and kept naming different BG beers.:stuck_out_tongue:

(Brew Gents, you know I love you. (How is there not a kissing face emoji on here?))
